Man, what would yous give for Parsons?

It would cost an enormous haul of picks, while taking us out of FA for years (Parsons, Tunsil, Daniels), so we'd have a huge drop off in about 3 years that will take time to come back from.

He wants to be an Eagle

That's why I wouldn't and would still like to sign Clowney. (I know not a pass rush specialist)

I love that this team actually appears to be a meritocracy. Paying Terry for what they think he will do age 31-33, not for what he’s done. Cutting Hampton, a draft pick from just last year.

If they are trading B-Rob, they aren’t tied to a player just because he was a higher draft pick and an incumbent. Rodriguez was a 6th round pick, McNichols a 5th, JCM a 7th, and they have been looking better, so we are moving on from our own 3rd round pick that has started for us for the last few years. This is the ultimate non-Ron Rivera move.

Also, how bad does our trade down now look that brought us Dotson and Robinson? Terrible. If there was a hall of fame for bad drafting, Ron RIvera would be Tom Brady.
I loved the trade down. I hated that we passed on doing it again, which we had the opportunity to do. The picks didn't land, but that's because of the circus tent of a FO we had.

Maybe. But the team isn't telling anyone they are shopping him. If they are making calls, it's staff from those teams that are leaking it to the media. And why wouldn't they? Because telling everyone the team is willing to let him go drastically increases the likelihood he will be cut. At worst, it would lower the cost of acquiring him if there were more than one team interested and they felt it was worth a late round pick.

The team either shops him, or they safeguard how they view him. There's not really a way to do both at the same time.
Correct, im working under the assumption that the reports are accurate from top sources and its league wide knowledge that hes available.
Once that is the case its over for players like him.

I would actually argue that the fall of would start tomorrow if we traded for him. We’d have to give up a haul of picks, and our current roster construction is going to be depended on draft picks over the next 3 - 4 years. We’ve turned over the majority of our roster twice now, with all 5 of our Rookies appearing to be on the brink of contribution, with 4 of them likely to be either starting, or tickling major contribution level.

You're probably right - the only caveat is, if a team really likes a player, they might throw a late pick at us in order not to lose him to another team that likes him. Doesn't happen very often though simply because players teams really covet don't get let go to begin with.

I agree, somebody could throw a 7th or swap of late round picks at us to prevent him from becoming a free agent.

All im saying is at this point id be far more surprised than not if he's on our roster week one.

They aren’t trading him this year, and certainly not in conference.

Playing along though, Parsons is about a year older than Daniels. It would give us an elite, blue chip pass rusher for the next 4 years or so. Dan Quinn is familiar and has shown he knows how to use Parsons. Parsons loves Quinn.

I think my price would be a 1st and a 2nd. And we don’t even have a 2nd this year. Some other team will pay more. We don’t have enough draft capital or a developed enough roster to be making a move like that.

To me, that’s the kind of move we make with 2 more draft classes under our belt and a sufficiently developed roster that losing the draft capital wouldn’t be as damaging.

I think Hendrickson is more realistic, but still is not realistic.

I’m happy to see Robinson go. He’s a reminder of a poor Rivera draft decision and has been average to below average. Beyond that, he has personally started to grate on me. Like, he needs to be perceived as a really good player, without having ever justified that, and he is publicly aggravated that the media and fans don’t see him that way. Keep that stuff to yourself. Nobody likes a diva RB that isn’t even mid.

Im surprised we didn't try to re-sign zaccheaus.

He was a solid contributor last year and looks like hes going to be in the bears plans this year.
Its not like we're flush at reciever either.

And he's been on two of quinns teams so you know he likes him, bit of a head scratcher.

Then before the season, nothing about how he's working on improving when asked about what he needs to do the season -- he said its just staying healthy, that's it.

I watched that interview and felt the exact same after that reply. That was the moment I gave up on him.

Seems like a likeable person and good kid though.

I don’t suppose the Eagles want to give us a 3rd for B-Rob?? 😂😂 I mean, he’s better than Dotson right? And they could use a decent backup to Barkley who took a lot of tread wear last year.

I agree we're not close. I wasn't big on the Tunsil trade personally. I hate trading away picks.

Parsons is going for at minimum 2 firsts.

An Eagle?

He's hinted that he'd like to be a Steeler.

I recall when Washington played Philly at the end of the season even though a Washington win would eliminate Dallas he said on his podcast he can't root for the Eagles, he dislikes them that much, so he had to root for Washington.

Maybe opposite of hate is love? But I recall his hatred for the Eagles came off intense.

Letting Zaccheus go seems to be a low key bad move considering what I've heard about the #4-#5 WRs as to camp play.

We traded for Deebo, that's why we didn't re-sign Zaccheaus. Then we also drafted Lane. I doubt we're running that many 4WR formations.

I mean coaches thought he could kind of play outside but was best in the slot. And that's also where (I believe) the Bears are using him too. His role is eaten up here. Especially if we start using more of the run game. Lane and Deebo are more dynamic in the role that Zaccheus had.

Slot WR is not our problem spot. It's guys on the boundary who can't do it.

He played fine at Z even though I agree better at slot. Judging by camp reports Z is a walking disaster right now. Noah still banged up and even if he gets healhy he's injury prone. Supposedly McCaffrey has had a bad camp. Chris Moore also with a bad camp.

Zaccheus was a utility infielder type who did well as a #4 type. From what am hearing there is no one like that right now on the roster -- and worse than that whomever is the #4 might have to start a lot at Z. So the backup Z, might have to be the starter at Z for most of the season.

I’m pretty sure Keim expressed some surprise about this a while back too. But as I said a couple times in the Terry thread, because of the Daniels effect, they are not likely to pay market price for any receiver. There will usually be decent ones available as cap casualties or ring chasers on one-year prove it deals. After all, Zaccheaus himself and Noah Brown were castoffs from other teams. And no problem if their value gets pumped up and they leave, because of potential comp picks down the road.

I missed that. I remember something about him on his podcast after the birds signed Barkley about wanting to be apart of that.

I can see that perhaps.

With Terry specifically, according to Keim among others they've strongly hinted that whatever compromise figure they might hit for Terry this team feels is an above market deal. So if its 28 million for example, they'd think its an overpay but I gather will do it for Terry. But they feel Terry's wants is an absurd overpay.
