Official Game Thread - Preseason Week 1 - Commanders @ Patriots

brooks seemed to be good- hard to tell as announcers were in love with themselves and we saw more pictures of them than replays, etc.

Good night to evaluate tier 2s and 3s. That's the best I can paint it
 
I am happy we looked at players. Just a bit out there but I do not think we had to evaluate Tunsil or Daniels. I like the way Quinn played it- no injuries and maybe we find a gem
 
Preseason or not, I hate to see the team look bad, as they did tonight. Some thoughts:

Special teams was horrible. Missed a field goal, gave up two huge kick returns, and even Tress Way was kicking touchbacks. Hopefully that’s mostly a matter of knocking the rust off and trying out the roster to see who can do what on teams, but it obviously needs work.

Too many penalties. Undisciplined.

We still can’t stop the run.

Bill looked good, but McNichols is not giving up his roster spot without a fight. It will be tough to pick one of them. Any chance we keep four running backs?

Our depth tight ends and receivers were as bad as advertised. Sinnott, Luke, Lane, Gallup, and KJ all disappointed.

Josh Johnson may be old, but he can still play, and he would be a better option than Sam Hartman if you actually needed your third string QB to win a game.

I believe, Terry might get a contract closer to what he wants. Did you see what Diggs got?

I agree, but Christopher Moore dropping those two passes sure hurt, too.
 
So I was out to dinner on vacation, didn't have cell service, and just got back to the room.

I know that Sam Hartman started, I'm guessing literally no starters played at all? Did any of NE's starters play?
 
I don't know how long they played, but it looked like NE played all their starters for at least a quarter. Drake Maye I think played into the second quarter.

Through most of the first half- defense in the second half. This was an evaluate player game. Not a "lets get Daniels injured-" game

I'm sorry, I don't understand. We played our starters the first half minus Daniels? Or NE played their starters...

NE had starters in for about the first quarter (defense into the second quarter I believe). It was quite the mismatch

on defense, I believe they had some starters in the second half. It was hard to tell because those reporting the game were too in love with themselves so were deficient in letting us know what was going on it was hard to tell. They used their second string QB much of the game. None of our top 2 played
