Unless Sinnott steps up. I wonder how he's looked and how much he's improved?
 
A TE room of Ertz, Fant, Sinnott and Bates would be pretty solid.

I think they may have to keep 4 regardless. They need a legitimate receiving threat behind Ertz. Ertz's health last year was an outlier. He usually misses more games. We do have some developmental guys, but can they be trusted to just step in as starting caliber receiving TE? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we sign him. He won't be expensive. Is a high RAS vet that has been moderately productive and fits a definite roster need. It reminds me of Noah Brown.

Yeah this team likes to play 12-13 personel so I'd be surprised if they don't have 4 TEs.

I edited my post. I think there is a good chance we sign him. It makes too much sense from a roster standpoint. Both for this year and next.

As a side note, I think a great receiving tight end, that can beat man coverage and also get up the seam and threaten deep, would go a long way towards helping Jayden. I also think it would really facilitate roster construction. I think if we had a Sam LaPorta, who I know you really liked in that draft class, that we could get away with less at WR, as Jayden gets more expensive. The NE/KC model could really work for us.

I was jealous of the Bears getting Colston Loveland. I think Conerly was the better pick for us, given the state of our OL and the importance of LT. But, now that we have OL shored up for the near future...
 


I found this one little nugget interesting. I don’t know what Lake Lewis Jr’s connections are like, but he said that we were interested in Clowney, but that Clowney wanted a longer term contract for more security. It’s at roughly 24:37.

I stopped listening to anything this guy says after the nonsense he was spouting in the video below. I think someone brought it up to Keim later and he basically just laughed dismissively.

You have a good point about his high RAS and production, and I do think it would represent an immediate upgrade at the position, I just don’t think it’s a definite roster need.

Ertz was old reliable last season and has proven to be a great leader. Bates just signed a 3-year deal and is a great blocker and sneaky good receiver. Sinnott is a second round draft pick entering just his second year.

Sure Ertz is old and Sinnott is unproven, but would you cut either of them? I mean maybe we carry four tight ends, but we only had three on the roster last year.

I really hope Sinnott balls out this year. I think he played well on special teams, and though he didn’t get many opportunities, he did catch the ball every time he was targeted, including a big play in the NFC Championship game. He was also named by DQ as one of the most improved players in camp. At Kansas he went from a walk on freshman to leading the team in receptions, it would be cool to see his pro career follow the same upward trajectory, especially when it seems many are ready to write him off so soon. I’m just saying give him more than one season is all.

It's not like we have anything close to Prime Shannon Sharp. Give me a break.

Tunsil and Lattimore are who will make a difference one way or the other. Hope that they both work out.

Uhhhhhhh, yes. Last year, Ertz had a tremendous impact on the success of the team.
 
Plus, Joe Gibbs was wonky about tight ends and in Joe we trust :D
