They’re better than our current stadium, but I would prefer something reminiscent of the old RFK or something neoclassical to match the DC architecture, assuming they do build on the old RFK cite of course.
 
Don't know where else to ask this, but does anyone know if the old RFK site is off limits to visitors?

I'm going to be in DC in August, and if they haven't leveled the building yet, I'd love to go see it and take pictures. One regret I have is having never been there at all, let alone attending a game there.

Yes, the stadium and parking lot is currently fenced off and undergoing abatement and other work. Unfortunately you won’t be able to access it (nor would you want to) during your time here in the area. You can at least drive the loop around it and see the shape it’s in.

I would fundamentally agree, except for, pandering to these people is what is making the council members drag their feet. And they already lost the RFK site to our current site once.

And look how much sense that wound up making for them. The RFk site was barely used and is now falling down. It's not a hypothetical. The Council fucking it up for DC is the precedent. It's literally what happened last time.

Let's be honest though, they're not pandering to those nitwits. They're looking out for their own self-interest.

Harris and Co. will get it done. I have full faith in them. Let morons like those who listen to Lynell Willingham get up in a tizzy. I am not worried, yet--mostly because Harris has been relatively quiet. When Harris starts applying pressure, I'll be more worried.

Look - I think Harris and Company need to play hardball. You give the DC City Council a hard deadline and make it clear to them that they either greenlight the new stadium by that date or you move on to other alternatives. Period. Put the pressure on them to **** or get off the pot.

DC has far more to lose in this calculus than the Harris Group and the Commanders do. And those DC City Council members know full well how badly the DMV wants a stadium at the RFK site. I think the opposition to it evaporates in the face of that kind of pressure.
 
I want it at RFK. Nothing else comes close, and I don’t care what they have to do and who they have to seek help from to make it happen. If they have to go over their heads to Congress and the President so be it.

The DMV wants this and the Nation needs this. They are right when they say it’s a once in a generation opportunity. I truly believe it’s that important for legacy and posterity.
