Deshaun Watson shows what happens when a power play is made. The Texans likely pulled some strings to uncover his dirt and allow it to go public, and then he was done. Then he completely lost his edge in his own right when he got a second chance.

Why on earth would they want to destroy the value of a player they’d invested so much in? I think that’s a pretty outrageous suggestion. His dirt was uncovered because he was groping legitimate female masseuses by the truckload.

The Texans did cover it up for a time; hence why the Texans were also sued at a point in time and the organization settled quietly. Before he tried to influence decisions of management, they were more than willing to use their string-pulling to keep things quiet and even set things up for Watson's naughty transgressions.

The Noah Brown injury is concerning. This is the right time of year though. Gives everyone plenty of time to heal or step up.

Noah Brown has played two full seasons in 7 years. That’s one of the reasons he hasn’t caught on. Having said that, I’m still glad he’s on our team and hope this injury isn’t significant.

Plenty of depth at that position as well. He seemed to develop some nice chemistry with JD though.

Hearing that Noah threw his helmet in frustration after is never a good sign. I sure hope it is nothing serious.
Listening to Nikki Jhabvala comment on Brown. She said she has no idea what really happened. no indication of what he injured, but as he was being carted off they went over a bump and Brown "screamed". I wonder if he reaggravated the kidney injury?

I think it was Keim if I recall who said it looked to be around the knee

What would help the NFL is to have a long term injured reserve designation like the NHL does so if a guy suffers a serious injury the team gets cap relief until the player returns.

That way the player still gets paid but it doesn’t condemn the team and an entire city worth of fans to having to gut the roster because of an accelerated cap hit.

The fact the NFL is a more physical and violent sport than the other 3 majors makes this seem a reasonable out for the injury scare on these contract deals.

Joe Gibbs would stash an entire team on IR lol. But with todays IR roster limits that idea makes sense.
