I don't know exactly where else to put this, so I'll put it here for now.
Galdi had John Kosko on his podcast on Friday. I have sworn an oath not to go off the deep end anytime anybody used PFF grades or references PFF sources in a post, like I used to do. And I think I've done fairly well with keeping my sacred vow.
However, this John Kosko guy demonstrated everything I hate about PFF. He rated the 2025 rookie QBs, and put Jayden Daniels 6th behind (in some order, I'm not entirely sure), Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, Burrow and Hurts.. Which I was fine with. Would I argue Daniels might be better than Hurts? Maybe but Hurts has played in 2 SBs, won one of them, and I think gets undervalued at times. And would I put Daniels on the same tier as the other top 4 after one year? Not yet. Maybe next year if he repeats or exceeds what he did in his rookie year. So, for me, all good there. (And also, I think trying to rank Mahomes, Allen, Jackson and Burrow is foolish. They are the top 4 QBs in the league, and I think the distance between them and #5 is a big jump.
Jayden Daniels at 6 was probably a good spot for him.
But what stuck out like a sore thumb and made me shake my head is the damn fool ranked JJ McCarthy as the third best QB in the class, behind Daniels at 6, and Bo Nix at 20-something. And one spot blow Bo Nix. Why? Because he had McCarthy as his QB1 coming out of college, ahead of Daniels, Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. And not even missing the entire season was going to sway his opinion, he had to rank his guy who NEVER PLAYED above Williams and Maye, who both played, and played well at times, and Penix, who played a little and also played well.
Personally, I would have given McCarthy and "incomplete" and not ranked him, because you don't know anything more now than you did when he was drafted. Comparing draft grades to NFL production is not something you can do.
Anyway, I haven't bitched about PFF recently, and I think I've generally been on good behavior about it. But in my opinion, this is just absolute horse hockey. And the fact he puffed his chest out about having McCarthy ranked as his top prospect coming out shows stupidity on the highest level. As it turns out, McCarthy was picked as the 5th QB taken. The NFL voted and said John's preseason rankings were stupid.
He didn't go as far as Epic Moron Dumbass Self Infatuated Needs To Stop And Take A Breath You Are Not Paid By The Word Thor Nystrom proclaiming he had not been as sure the league had messed up as he was when they passed on Lamar Jackson (editorial note: who was picked in the first round) as he was when Malik Willis lasted to the third round. That's the epitome of epic stupid moron egotistical nonsense right there.
So John stayed below that. But that's not saying much.
