UDFA thread

Ja'Corey Brooks is good. Serious talent that we scooped up - way to go AP.

after watching just highlights and reading his draft profile, Ted is now my pre-season UDFA man-crush.

Wow, McDaniels sounds like a DQ/Whitt guy for sure!

they seem to love the hybrid S-LB-big nickle types.

Ron used to love talking about it, with one of his favorite terms "Buffalo nickle" -- but when big nickle college studs would land at his pick, he'd yawn at Kyle Hamilton, JOK, Brian Branch.

lol, one of a series of Ron's Twlight Zone draft escapdes.

Oh could we go down that DEEP rabbit hole of Ron's Twilight Zone draft escapades!!! I am not sure whether to laugh or cry over what that guy put us fans through

You know it's pretty bad when we make the nfc championship game and we are still talking about it because it's still a burden to this roster and probably will be for a couple more seasons.
It's insane to think about where we could be had we drafted darrisaw, olave and Gonzales.

But then we'd be back down the rabbit hole of we wouldn't have jayden so I don't wanna go there again.

Yeah his incompetence led us to Jayden so its all good.

Ron as a person seems like a good dude. But as to his stint here, even in retrospect he's shown zero humility and if anything has been deceptive. the kicker for me is this past off season, he claimed he hever wanted all that control as to personnel but it was foisted on him. Yeah right , Ron. Ron at every turn when hired touted the "coach centric" model as why he took the job let alone he didn't want it. Then the whole, I deserve some credit for the team's success last year. He had Olsen say it. And even if that was unprompted from him, who knows but in another interview, he talked about how Quinn credits him for some of this teams success. I am sure Quinn likely said it because he's a super nice guy. But Ron has missed the plot in a big way when he was here and when he left. I'll add he was the only Dan apologist right to the end, even when he didn't need to be. Cringe-worthy stuff.

Jay Gruden comes off miles more likeable than Ron as to his tenure here. He will take shots at himself and some of his decisions. He will blast Dan. He comes off to me like a dude who gets it, and understands this fan base.

I searched up examples of delusional on google. This is what it returned-

Seems like the multi-position player. He replaces Chinn and will be released at times in games to come hard rushing the apposing QB.

I try to remind myself that very late rounders and UDFA's ideally don't make a good squad's 53 and therefore penciling them in for much of anything is ill-advised but we are in the unique position of having made the NFC Championship game despite big holes and depth problems so I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility that there are some contributors. (though let the record show I was a big Chig Anusiem believer!)

WR Ja'Corey Brooks, other than DB Robert McDaniel has a decent chance of sticking on the PS and possibly the 53. He put up over a 1000 yards this past season for Louisville QB Tyler Shough.

They are really heavy at WR I think. This was kind of my concern with Gallup, not as much the $$, it was more whether it was a favor and a waste of time and a seat in the room which is valuable. It's up their judgement of course, but that was the concern I repeated. There are only so many seats. I like guys like Crowder, and I am sure Gallup is getting a bit of extra negativity from me because of his Cowboys history (old habits), but the thing for me is I wanted the team to get younger and faster in general, and especially maybe at the WR position where our best talent is entering his 30s.
