The 2025 Draft Thread

They are a mess after drafting Gabriel yesterday and still have the headaches of Deshaun Watson, plus Pickett and Flacco

I could see it though, the winner of that competition ought to be a decent starter. They’ve also been smart to load up on picks this year.

That said, yeah, they probably should have just kept Baker and the resources they spent on Watson.

Sanders is the best QB in their building.

Which might say more about what else they have available than Sanders. But I’d bet he starts games for the Browns this season.

Have watched more now and I’ll expound.

I see the speed show up on his returns, and after he makes up his mind with the ball in his hands as a receiver. And I see it on the 40. As soon as he u restarts the assignment, he’s really fast.

I don’t see it in the vast majority of his routes. I don’t see twitchy lateral moves. I only see “fine” in that regard.

So maybe it can be coached up. And he’s another pullout to be deployed in the Swiss Army knife offense we are clearly aiming at. And he’s a really good returner, which I’m not at all dismissing. But IMO he doesn’t really profile like a legit NFL WR. A guy that wins routes and catches lots of balls. I don’t see that. I see a guy who can make a nice impact in a few different ways if things go well. And that’s totally fine, it’s the 4th round. That would be a big win! Not seeing much more though and would love to be surprised.

The reason why you see it on the returns is once he clears some defenders and has daylight he can go full speed. I have to rewatch him, I'll do it later. But off the top of my head, you'll see the speed in full force on end arounds when they give him in the ball in the backfield where again he has the space (lack of clutter) to do it.

When you catch the ball in traffic, you can't go full acceleration typically. You have to decelerate some. Stop and go. He's good at that. Tai Felton another dude who is really fast and is a good YAC guy but its not because he's at it at full speed.

But even if lets say you think he doesn't play as fast as he looks. His 40 time. And time speed in games is elite level. And 8.3 YAC makes it clear he puts it to use. So its not really a subjective call. It's clear he does play fast. And its clear that he's great at YAC.

The disclaimer about him is similar to Felton in that for a fast guy with the potential to be a deep threat, he's not been that. Can he develop into that? But as a speed dangerous underneath guy, that looks slam dunk.

My son, who knows absolutely nothing about football but has a big heart and wants to converse with me about my passion and knows we need edge help because I had said on Thursday that we needed a defensive end, just walked in the room and said " did we get the rear end you wanted"?

God bless his soul, I tried really hard not to laugh.

The YAC obviously speaks to speed, but I think it also speaks to play strength. For a guy that isn’t that big, his highlights are full of him not going down with first contact. He looks physical. I wonder how good of a blocker he is.

It’s been a workmanlike head down draft.

Not too many big moves.

Sanders provides controversy - gets eyeballs.

Damn, I really liked Giddens.....Tahj is next up in the RB room for me
