Yep. Granted we don't know who is going to be there.

But among the ones they've talked to.

Crosky-Merritt, J. James, Tahj Brook, O. Gordon, Blue, all better than Robinson IMO.

I am not sleeping on Jaydon Blue now, forgot about him this afternoon. If he is still there, I can see them digging him. If they want speed. Lane indicates that. Blue is dynamic as heck but not a featured back. Brashard Smith, too.

But I like some others they haven't met with. I don't recall much noise about them and Lane so maybe that doesn't matter now. Will see.

Clearly the NFL disagrees with me on Giddens, Martinez. They are my two favs left.

If these guys are gone, I like Devin Neal, Monangai, too
 
I don’t think there will be an edge good enough to merit selection at 205. I’m thinking RB and kicker?
 
Part of me is honestly surprised that we've executed zero trades so far.

For those worrying that we haven't chosen a RB yet, one of my first thoughts with the Lane selection was that he can be a supplement and extension to the run game in a creative way through use of the screen game, YAC ability, etc.

I think if the plan is to draft a kicker then I'd take him in the 6th. Make sure we get our first choice. After all, our sixth is practically a seventh anyway.

Yeah we’ll see on McCaffery. He was asked to learn all the spots last year and is converting to WR. It might take a year or two more. The thing is, he has time to develop. He has the physical skills. They don’t need to rush him. But it would be good if he showed something this year.

I do think they need to pick a spot for him and let him specialize there. Having him move around is probably not ideal anymore.

Absolutely. I think of for example the Tampa playoff game and Jayden is beinfg blitzed like crazy and is making quick short passes and dump offs as a reaction. Old dudes like Ekeler had some good short pass runs in some games like that, but he was on and off on that front and isn't fast anymore.

Now we Deebo and Lane, those short passes are dangerous.

Lane isn't just a good YAC guy, he's third in this class, and just a hair being ranked 2nd. Only Kyle Williams by a fraction and my guy Thornon was ahead of him on that front.

If we luck out and get a RB too in the 6th, this would be a turn of events I wasn't expecting -- O line strengthened, WR and RB in one fell swoop.

If I recall it was Hail Raiser talking about attacking one side of the ball, offense, hard this off season, and then take on the defense in a bigger way the following off season. You can't rebuild Ron's crap roster overnight. Looks like they are thinking like Hail Raiser.

If they have a new dyanmic WR, dyanmic RB and an o line that can rival any team after this draft -- its one heck of a draft especially considering only 5 picks. Granted all in theory but i love it.
