I don't think you can bench Martin which how much he's improved year after year. Would be a rotational safety. Could also be nickel in sub-packages.

Slept on it and I am hoping we trade back. At this point, some teams are just going to have to trade up because they have too many picks remaining vs roster spots.
The Ravens have 2 picks behind us in the 4th and 4 6th round comp picks left, the Bills have 3 5th round comp picks left, the Eagles have 3 5th round comp picks left, etc.
I am seeing enough talent on the board across positions where we can woo one of these three teams to move up just a bit to get their guy in the 4th and we can move back just a tad to still get a player we like in the 4th and add more pieces.
Getting a 5th round comp picks would be huge

Keep an eye out for S Wyett Ekeler of Wyoming as a possible UDFA signing after the draft. He's the younger brother of Austin.
This is a very good point. I wanted a trade back as well but it's true when you trade back you usually end up with worse players. They just took damned good football players at 2 of the most critical positions in football. I'm good with that.

In the 6th & 7th, I feel fairly confident we can grab at least a run stuffing NT to challenge Goldman and a complementary back. Maybe a kicker. Would be nice to scoop up another pick or two to grab an EDGE and these three positions. Then hope Restrepo is a UDFA

Just for reverse perspective, I don't know it is going to be that easy. These are all smart teams who know we just went to NFC Championship games and we have just drafted our two high value players. They may be looking for some mid-to-low tier'd team. We may have a better chance trading with some mid to low tiered teams. But then again, some of these GMs get desperate if their guy is there when we draft and they think there is a team they think will draft them at the position we are not targeting anymore (OL, DB, etc).
Crammed Kyle Kennard, David Walker, Jack Sawyer.
I'll double down, I'd take Swinson over these three. But there is some connection to this team and interviews and mentions with these three, especially Kennard.
Kennard -- in short. He has a quick first step, anticipates the snap. Pure pass rusher, not a set the edge type. good bend. One of those dudes who likes to run around the DT, cross chop move. But has some counter moves to the inside. Played well against Will Campbell. I watched that matchup. Not a great 40, but an elite score for his 10 which shows when you watch him. Seems like a smart dude, watched 2 interviews. I can see how this team would dig him. Definitely not a reach to take him in the 4th.
I know some of the PFF guys aren't in love because some of his sacks were sort of easy-clean up sacks. Yeah that's true. But he's disruptive consistently enough including trying to go get the ball when he's going for the sack. 3 forced fumbles. I like him.
Walker -- even though he's short, he's all power and likes to blow up plays. Similar to Ty Robinson at DT for anyone who has watched him. Great Senior Bowl. I can see it with him. I wonder though about 2 things. Older guy about to turn 25, playing much younger dudes. And played inferior competition. But a fun watch. He's a handful to deal with it. I'd be good with it.
Sawyer -- sets the edge well, he's very aware of the play and what's going on and where the play is headed. To use a baseball analogy, he is a finesse pitcher who tries to out smart the opponent. Clean up sacks but again part of that is his awarness and being around the ball. Short arms, didn't run. nort quick, a bit stiff. A big culture guy, leader. I wouldn't love it but I'd like it, I'd get it.
out of the three I prefer Kennard as more of a high floor pass rusher. I think Walker has the bigger ceiling. Sawyer would be going medium.

The Eagles who have what people consider a monster defensive line do not have an "elite" pass rusher end as far as sack totals are concerned.
Their top 5 last year were;
Josh Sweat 8 (who they let walk)
Nolan Smith 6.5
Milton Williams 5
Jalen Carter 4.5
Brandon Graham, Zach Baun 3.5
Overall they ranked 14th in the league.
Dante Fowler had 10 sacks last year
