The 2025 Draft Thread

Cam Skattebo is starting to experience a little bit of a fall here. He was hard to gauge in terms of where he'd go but I think in general most expected him to go top 100.
 
Take everything you’re thinking about Shedeur Sanders’ personality, the off-field stuff with Prime, etc.

Staple that baggage onto Teddy Bridgewater.

Then make that player the QB who took the most sacks in college football, and bottom 20% (in the entire NCAA) in holding the ball before release.

That’s the issue. The skillset doesn’t offer enough to outweigh the obvious drama and media circus. He’s not hopeless but he doesn’t offer an obvious starter’s skillset to offset everything else that comes along with him.
 
I'm in a similar boat to a lot of folks that a pass rusher somewhere would have been nice, and I wish we had more picks.

That being said, I think they went 2 for 2 on studs, which is really hard to take issue with. In two offseasons, the QB room, the O-line group, and the defensive back groups have been completely overhauled. WR, TE, and LB are still in transition with veteran pieces but quality improvements. D-Line and RB could get some love tomorrow, and then there's the post draft wave of free agency to find and spackle for this year. LFG.
 
Kyle Kennard has to be in play at 128 and to me represents fantastic value at this point. He could immediately step in and serve as your situational pass rusher to replace Fowler on 3rd downs. He has a really explosive get off from the line, a relentless effort and motor, 5 years of very solid college production, very high football IQ, is an Academic All American, and was the Bronco Nagurski recipient. I would run to the podium pending availability.

He's good. Stutsman is a good instinct LBer I like if we go defense. I think Edge or even just DL is reaching now. Maybe Deon Walker or Farmer if want DL.

Offense Mbow, Skatt, Tuten, Sampson and a bunch of WRs like Horton, lane, Royals, Ayomayer.

I think the 4rth round is where the talent dries up and all the long shots start to show up, so I hope we trade up, not out of it.
 
Loved the Amos pick especially in that range. Keim when taking Hairston for the ESPN special said he knows they like Amos too, it could be either one if they went CB. I preferred Hairston but also liked Amos.

I recall saying multiple times, Carlos Rogers but with ball skils. I got to rewatch him though now.

Been thinking and saying CB is the bigger need over D line. i know some like Hail Raiser agreed with that, some didn't. I'd love to upgrade edge but I do think they can make due with what they have worse case, and also some good edges still on the street.

CB to me is the ticking time bomb position. We had three undersized corners. Love Sainstrill but he might be better in the slot. Jonathan Jones is oldish and coming off a meh season and we signed him on the cheap for a reason. Noah I is decent but nothing killer. Lattimore was a hot mess when he played last season and even if he rebounds, he's often injured.

CB IMO could have derailed this defense in ways I don't expect edge to have a similar issue.

I think there will still be some talent into the 5th, the 6th and 7th will be a bit dried up.

AP did a good job of checking out diamonds in the rough across the board though. I am thinking he hopes for a trade back to get at least one extra late rounder to add the roster instead of battling with the other teams for UDFAs. The hopes will be backups, teamers and PS players
 
Browns crushed this draft. Don't hear that often. It's like ownership finally backed off a pretty good FO and coaching staff.

I like the Raiders draft and the Eagles, too.
 
I stopped watching in the third round because it was like watching other people eat at a buffett, it would drive me crazy so now am catching up on who is gone.

RB, looks great: Giddens, Skattebo, Sampson, Tuten, Martinez. I'd love to have those guys in particular.
 
Don't love Sawyer or Kennard bit I like them. They seem to spend a lot of time with Kennard. Keim mentioned him a bunch of times. If I had to guess now, that's who they would take or Tuten if they are still there at their pick.

If there is one thing that is holding in this draft, its that it matters a lot who they met with a lot. Kennard is one of those guys. I wish Sawyer ran and didn't have those short arms, he's a bit more of a mystery box for me. But as a dude he screams their type of guy.

I was trying to make the case for CB pretty often at 29, generally going back and forth better which of those two I liked better.

I'm over the moon about Amos. Feels lik last year hitting Newton, like we had a second 1rt round pick.

That's two A++ picks so far in this draft.

Stutsman, Riley and a few DTs I like, but I think we missed out on the Edge class. I'd probably be sorting targets at edge in the 7th today, while still grabbing eventual starters in the 4rth.

I am glad I couldn't watch it last night, thank goodness. It was so frustrating to read through all the great talent going everywhere else. Thank goodness they were able to pull off a steal with Amos! He was one of the 10 players I listed as the difference makers for us last night

We had multiple offers to trade back from bth of our picks and we stayed put and took our guys.

If the RB or whatever is there when we pick, I doubt we move back.

Absolutely. He was on the table for me at 29, not one of my favs at 29, but one I was cool with there. Home run pick.

And this is a team shooting for a SB, and if they feel a dude is that strong as to helping their current team, take them versus trade down. As much as I push trading down, I had no issue with them not trading down considering how it unfolded. Every time this team has traded down, or almost every time, the other team has won the trade over time.

I think CB-O line were the ticking time bombs on this team along with setting the edge on the D line. They've addressed all three in a big way.

All that's missing IMO in a big way, pass rushing juice and a RB. Runner up would be a WR who can stretch the field.
 
They're talking about Sanders like they talk about Capernick. Like it's all his drama that is keeping him undrafted.

No, he's a bad prospect with a ton of drama.

I love the RBs I mentioned.

RJ Harvey was one of my guys, and no one here talked him up as much as I did. Yet, I still think he was overdrafted. I like Giddens, Skattebo over him. And Tuten, Sampson, Martinez to me are a toss up with Harvey.

If we are sticking with the concept of who Keim has mentioned and or visits -- Tuten would be the leader in the camp. i am a big fan of him. I know you are too,

I honestly wouldn't mind two RBs if they're different. We can move on from McNicoles and CRod without issue. If we could somehow get a Tuten or Blue and PS them, while getting a Sampson, Skatt or Neal to back up BRob, I'd be down with that.

There are A LOT of WRs that I really like. Of course my Thornton crush is there and I might want to come up for him a bit if he's there late 5th, but Nick Nash, Roc Taylor in the 7th would be great. But the WRs at the front of day three is think. I remember liking Ayomayer in the 2nd not long ago.
