Reminds me of last year. Every single pick, I was like "Get us an OT!" But we had to wait five picks! I swear the only reason we got a tackle is because I drove up to Ashburn and leaned on my horn for five minutes.Same thoughts, but everyone gonna go nuts if we don't go defense with this next one

I’m fine if we don’t go defense. I just want a guy that looks like he will be impactful this year. If that’s WR or RB, I’m fine.
We put up a lot of points last year, but the offense had fits and starts and looked pretty disjointed in some games. We REALLY relied on Jayden to be a hero. I’d love to see us be consistently more efficient.
So far, it looks like we are pretty well positioned to be making finishing touch moves next year. Like drafting a Jhamyr Gibbs or adding a Saquon to put us over the top.

I was talking with a buddy of mine this morning. If Conerly were comped against last year’s tackles, he is a better prospect than Jordan Morgan and Tyler Guyton.
I think skinsinparadise posted something yesterday that insiders expected him to go 10-25 or something of that sort.

Oh yeah I was more talking about the general social media reaction, where everyone seemingly convinced this was a bottom 5 defense last year? The volume metrics seem to suggest we were slightly below average.

I think the disconnect is that while there’s not a clear cut consensus “prospect A is better than B” for this group - all of these guys have little dings on their reports - it comes down to fit (along with need, positional depth, how fixable/concerning those “dings” are, etc). So each team’s rankings is/could be wildly different… hence some teams were willing to come up for a guy, particularly when you factor in the 5th year option.
Especially as it got closer, some were saying expect the tackles including Conerly to go that early. Finlay said in his podcast this team heard that SF loved him and considered him earlier, and there was another team, forgetting whom.
He also said he saw Kliff after the pick and he was pumped.
I've seen different 2nd round mocks, one where we get JT another Scourton, I'd love that.
These guys are probably on our board for Round 2 based on draft visits etc (no particular order)

Either of those would be great. We would have greatly improved the OL and DL in the course of a year.
I feel like we may wind up with Oliwafemi Oladejo, and I would not be pumped about that. New to the position. Didn’t run a 40. Only 4.5 sacks. That’s a guy the Ravens take to develop when they already have pass rushers. I guess he could step in and set the edge immediately. I’d infinitely rather have Scourton/JTT.

Likewise. I really hope Femi is not the guy. What spooks me is he has the lowest pressure rate of any of the meaningful EDGE prospects at 10%.
I think we are saying the same thing. Unless you believe with Green still on the board they have taken him. I think the legal issues he has had are hurting him. I could be wrong but I seem to remember reading he had issues in HS too. Could have it all wrong or it could all be not true. Who knows during NFL lying season. But I can see this FO steering clear. After him, the next group are pretty close to the same skill levels overall.

I think Trev Henderson is the dream, but I doubt he's there.
Tahj Brooks, Dylan Sampson, DJ Giddens all jumping out at me.
Give me an EDGE/CB that falls at 2.61 assuming we don't have a dance partner.

Good reminder for me to watch him more today. On first watch, there was 2 thing I liked a lot about him. The energy he played with. And he played the run with unique sideline to sideline range for a DE.
To me Scourton and JT I'd love to have over Oladejo. Landon, too. But if all three are gone, I get it. I do have other players I prefer. It does feel inevitable that they'd take him at 61. Keim seems convinced he goes before 61, i am guessing he's wrong but will see.
Ironic for me is I hated the idea of Nick Emmanwori in the first. But I can dig it in the late 2nd. He still wouldn't be who I'd take if he's there but i am much more in favor of dudes with traits in that range of the draft.
If they went with an outside the box pick, Mason Taylor or Arroyo if they are there. But I've heard no smoke at all about any TE interest.
I'd love it if its Higgins. Kaleb or Henderson, too though I think Henderson will be long gone.
I like Keim and his takes typically. But I hate this one he makes on this front, he goes what makes Oladejo intriguing is that he's raw and developing as a pass rusher as opposed to more developed pass rushers like JT who he also liked. His point is there is more upside accordingly.
To each their own but the only time I favor raw over developed is if its a freak athlete which doesn't pertain to this player.
