The 2025 Draft Thread

if it were me, I'd skip all three and draft Tatledge in the late 2nd if I were going O line.
Bring me the mullet! The OL would be solidified and they could keep Coleman on the outside like I think they are good with. Also Ratledge has the potential to become a C if you wish to go down that road in the future

Is there room for Hartmans mane and Tates on the roster?

Yeah, the Milroe in the 1st stuff sounds loony to me as well. Accuracy is incredibly streaky, often holds the ball for a long time if he doesn't have an immediate read open...but his legs save him there a lot, sloppy footwork which leads to sailing lots of passes, has a cannon for an arm but only has one pitching speed and not much touch, pocket presence is mediocre at best. He was also pretty terrible at passing vs SEC teams last season, throwing for 5 TDs to 10 INTs. For comparison, JD threw 27 TDs to 2 INTs vs SEC opponents in 2023.

To me he looks like a guy you take a mid round flyer on to see if he can develop with a couple of years on the bench in the NFL, not a 1st round pick.
Seems like an Anthony Richardson with a better attitude to me and he went 8th(?)

Hurts didn't look like an SEC QB and he's been to the SB half his time in the league.

NYG bringing in Shough this week too.

I've been trying to think of a comparison to Jihaad Campbell. Maybe a bigger fast Haasan Reddick that's better in space?

That dude doesn't get past me at 29. I see him going in the teens, unless that QB big run happens like I'm predicting.

Wow SIP, welcome to the dark side, lol.

Welcome? I started the process saying its a toss up for me between Hampton and Kaleb for the #2 back. Hampton though over time and more watching emerged as #2 for me. But I didn't really talk about Kaleb too much after that. Mainly because I thought the outside zone running style wasn't a fit here. But apparently they see a fit so am into it.

He can't live on the Edge but would be an amazing chess piece that could lineup all over the place. I don't think there are any other players in the draft that match his talents and potential.

Keim's latest podcast, full of tidbits.

CB, O line, D line (more likely DE), RB on their agenda in a big way. Maybe S. WR maybe, but thinks more if there is a trade down but didn't rule out they take one early. A LB he mentioned for later in the draft, I was half sleeping then so need to relisten to get the name.

Two players they've met with that hasn't been disclosed anywhere else; Skattebo, S. Stewart. He wasn't sure if they'd go for Stewart, he was vague on it though by saying if he drops to 29 he will drop for a reason. He suggested again they wouldn't go for Pearce.

At edge maybe Ezeriuaku, JT Tuimololoau, Landon Jackson, Kyle Kennard, Oladjeo, M. Williams (if he falls). He mentioned Derrick Harmon hypotetically again.

CB: Hairston -- saying people he talks to say he's thicker than Forbes, no comparison, and tougher-more physical, a scout he talked to loves him but doesn't think he falls to 29, Riley, Trey Amos, A. Thomas. He might have mentioned Parrish I have to relisten to that segment. Keim said Forbes was easiest the thinest player he's ever seen covering the NFL. Apples to oranges with Hariston.

RB they are hot for. Mentioned the guys they've had meetings with mostly: Henderson, Tuten, O. Gordon, T. Brooks, Skattebo, K. Johnson. He threw in Etienne in the mix as a type of RB but wasn't specific as to meeting with him. But it was noteworthy for me because its the first I've heard his name. But of course i was pleased to hear Skattebo for the first time.

With WR, he mentioned Egbuka as a hypothetical but think he was genuinely using him as an example versus referencing that he knows they have interest. But suggested they have interest in Felton in the third-4th round range

With O line, focused on Conerly and Belton. He mentioned Belton is expected to go between 25-45. That seems off compared to the mocks. But he also talked about that point generally which is don't be surprised if mocks and what the teams think don't match that heavily in this draft. I've heard multiple mock drafters among others echo that this year that the matches seem off so expect the first round to be full of surprises.

Yeah, he's definitely not Parsons lite, but he is strong all over. He could be a traditional MIKE IMO.

He's kind of in that Luvu role, but he can do anything. I know I'd absolutely hate seeing him paired with Parsons or playing on that Eagles defense.

Hairston at 29 and Skattebo in the 2nd would have me stoked.

I have such a hard time believing that we're going to wait from 61 to 129 to pick though.

I'm starting to think 61 has a better trade back opportunity than 29 does.

It all depends on the top 3 picks IMO. If they're all QB picks, 29 has no chance for a trade back. If Pitt is the 2nd QB taken, 29 will be hot for it.

Everyone and their grandma has him mocked to Tampa Bay unfortunately, but yeah he's definitely a guy I'd grab at 29 if he was there and a small list of others weren't.

I wonder to what degree the boards are locked? Does it change up to the day of the draft or is the plan set and agreed upon already. Obviously, there's has to be some flexibility because at 29 you have to anticipate surprises, but you'd also think they know exactly how they feel about every player at this point.

I’m with you that our chance to trade back may better with 61. Less capital for the trading team and the 1st round grades sound like they are all over the place. Of course, with that swing in grades, maybe it’s more likely that a guy falls that some team loves?

I was with you on Hairston until The Chump Bailey posted that article on corners, lol.

I would, too. Skattebo and Noah Brown and John Bates and Deebo woould be painful to deal with. Pat Bryant if they took him and his run blocking. Talk about having an identity.

I like to go back to the Eagles-49ers in that big 2023 game. The 49ers came to Lincoln Field and bullied them.

I wouldn't let corner not having one of the better hit rates deter you from taking one. The Eagles took two corners early last year and basically it locked them into a SB.

I think CB and RB are the ticking time bombs on this team if not fixed. I think we can survive at edge plus there are still options in FA at that spot.

But for CB, if lets say Lattimore is who we saw last year or gets injured as he tends to do. We got no easy replacement.

And as to RB, its amazing we can control the clock with so little help from that position but we might not be that lucky next season.

Besides the QB's, Pearce will be the most intriguing player to see when and where he goes.

The Edge class is really impressive right through the 4th round. It is good to know going in we would have options into the 3rd and beyond. I mean Que at the end of the 4th is an incredible bargain.

I am a little surprised no mentions of Giddens or Harvey in the RB mix. Who knows though, it is just a list.

It sounds like they want an OL for sure, even it means later day 3 for the pipeline. We should draft at least one every year!

Stewart I heard could drop to the 3rd/4th range, which surprises me a bit. I've cooled a bit on Tyler Baron the more I watched. Jalen McLeod is garnering some attention. I liked him a lot when he played for App State OLB/Edge. He could be a good option for us too. BJ Green out of Colorado also interests me and we have met with him.

Yeah he does sorta remind me of a smaller, slightly more accurate Anthony Richardson. However, I think that actually works against him being a 1st round pick, not for him, because Richardson is an absolute bust and is terrible. So the whole "Let's take this guy early based purely on his crazy athletic upside and ignore the fact that he's not actually a good QB, in the hope that he'll get better" looks like an even more suspect decision nowadays.

As far as Hurts, I think in college he was a far better passer and overall QB than Milroe. Hurts threw for 32 TDs and 9 INTs his senior year and was known to actually be quite accurate at short and intermediate passes, but spotty deep accuracy, partly due to so-so arm strength. That's mostly the opposite of Milroe who has a cannon and a pretty deep ball, but his inaccuracy on more common short/intermediate passes is pretty poor.

It's certainly possible that someone will take the risk of a 1st and pray that Milroe won't end up anywhere close to Richardson territory, but it's quite a gamble.

I certainly wouldn’t avoid drafting a corner, it’s easily a top 3 need for us IMO. I just don’t feel as good now about taking one that early, depending on who’s on the board of course. Admittedly, part of that also has to do with having so few picks - I’d feel better about taking on that hit rate risk if we traded back and gained a 3rd or whatever.

I’m a little surprised we don’t seem linked to any TEs that I can recall? To me, TE is a bit like corner - it’s a pretty solid looking group until our top guy (Ertz/Lattimore) goes down.
