Check the TD to INT ratio and rushing numbers.

Winston is an interesting case. I like the guy, he’s always smiling like a kid on the playground when he plays the game, but he never could beat the turnover bug. He’s the guy who had a 5,000 yard season but also threw 30 interceptions that year. He had a 500 yard game last year but lost because he threw 3 picks. He’s easy to root for, but his penchant for the costly turnover has been consistent throughout his long career.

Not only is Mariota a better runner and less prone to turnovers, but he is younger, played great for us last year, wants to be here, and is really just the ideal backup for Jayden because of how much they have in common (mobile, 2nd overall pick, Heisman trophy) and his willingness to be a mentor.

I think that explains the difference in compensation well enough.

Honestly, I wasn’t aware of the allegations. I just read up on them, don’t know what to make of it.

I guess what I like is what I’ve seen of him on the field, how he always seems to smile and enjoy the game.

But point taken. It’s good to know there’s this question about his character, not sure how I missed it.

IMO, if people are going to make comments such as the above, they need to add a source.

I’m not going to champion Winston’s character, but to make spurious character assessments about someone without corroborating sources is problematic. In this age of rampant disinformation, we all need to be more careful.

Sorry. I assumed everyone knew because it was such a long time ago.

2016 he was arrested for rape and settled out of court, 2017 hye yelled fuck her in the pussy on front of 5th graders, 2018 he groped an uber driver.

None of this was private, but I guess people like his smile and focus on his crab leg theft.
 
He also got popped for stealing crab legs at a local grocery store to FSU. It was widely reported as a misunderstanding, but at a minimum he was elevating his level of entitlement to even consider it to be 'ok' to do. At worst he flat out broke the law.

And, if you use it, you’ll find that he was not charged with rape, because the DA did not think there was enough evidence, and that the accuser had too many anomalies in her account.

Yes, he yelled what you said, in Florida State’s Student Union building, not in front of a bunch of 5th graders. He was not specifically “bragging about sexual assaulting” anyone, as you intimated.

Allegations by Uber driver were never even brought to police. Allegedly there were others in the car on a ride share, and accounts differ.

I am in no way apologizing for, nor condoning, any of his behavior, and he is definitely not someone I would care to spend any time with, but facts matter. Slanting opinion around facts has become a game for too many, but facts do still matter.

If your opinion is that he is a shitty human being, I respect that, and think likewise, but please stick to facts, or post your source.

Sorry yeah, I'm on a shitload of meds for the flu right now and get all the different allegations he and his teams have bought his way out of confused..
 
I was talking to a Steelers-fan friend of mine--telling him from experience how much that QB quagmire sucks. They either have to bottom out in the right year--i.e., not Kenny Pickett or this year--or get extremely lucky with a young Russell Wilson, Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy, or Dak Prescott. Even though the latter just folds come pressure time.
 
Not making excuses for anyone but specifically Winston, I believe in the ppl can change theory and for all probability I think Jamesis has changed from what I see and have heard… sure all those disgusting things he did in 2018 and before were definitely horrible and bad but to say that we each haven’t done some pretty rotten things in our lifetime is telling a lie cause we have and I’m sure we’ve changed from just the ppl we were even 1 year ago. If ppl want to hold over another person something they did 5 or more years ago that’s on them specially when that person has clearly changed.

But onto the GMen signing him… I think it’s a good move for them and I’m actually looking forward to seeing Winston’s pre and post game interviews, if for anything the dude is charismatic and very entertaining to watch for sure regardless of the performance
