Mock Draft Rules:

Following are the details and rules for the 2025 B&G Mock Draft, Please read carefully as it will make the draft therefore more fun. If interested please let Cowboy-Killa or myself know.

The draft:

This is a full 32 team 7 round mock draft. COWBOY-KILLA and Goskins10 will be acting Commissioners. We need GMs for each of the 32 teams. From experience it’s not bad to have 2 teams so the true minimum we need are 16 GMs. Please DM COWBOY-KILLA or Goskins10 if you are interested.

Timing:

The start date is 12:00PM Noon Friday March 28th. The draft order will be frozen at 12:00PM Noon Thursday March 27th. This means from that point no trades in real life will count.

Time to pick:

Once the draft starts the timing is as follows: 1st Round – 12 hours, 2nd and 3rd round 10 hours, 4-7 rounds 8 hours. The time is to account for GMs outside the US and for sleeping. However, please try to be ready when it’s your turn. If you miss your turn, your time will be cut in half. If you miss your turn twice you will be removed. Please don’t miss. It’s so much more fun when everyone is watching, and we are moving along. You will be sent several DMs letting you know your turn is coming up. If it looks like you will not be around for your pick, you are encouraged to leave your top 3 choices with myself or Cowboy-Killa, or someone else you trust. This really helps keep moving things along.

When Making Your Pick:

When making your pick it is helpful to list it as follows: With the 97th pick in the 2025 B&G Mock Draft the Washington Commanders select: XXXX This really helps us keep track of players picked.

If You pick a player already selected:
It is canceled, and the next person can pick when ready. However, you can make your alternative selection at any time. You do not have to wait. We will keep a running list of draft picks at the front of the thread. That is the official order and record of players picked. As we get into the later rounds or if you missed some picks, please check this list. Don’t be that guy (spoiler alert we have all been that guy at least once, just don’t be that guy this year).

Note: There is no talking about a player before they are drafted, period.

Once the player is drafted that is fine. But it is not fair to bring up a player that maybe is not on others radar and they get chosen by someone else first. This is a fun exercise let’s keep it that way.

Trades:

Trades are allowed for draft picks only, no players. They must be reasonable and as such are subject to group approval. COWBOY-KILLA and I have the final call if there is disagreement. Trading next year’s picks is allowed once per GM. Keep in mind these do not carry over to next year. Once approved please announce trades clearly in the thread. For example: The Washington Commanders trade pick 29 to the Chicago Bears for picks 38 and 40.

Other Rules:

All rules of how to conduct yourself apply for this thread just like any other. If you break the rules expect the mods to take action. This is not a safe space. Having said that, a little spirited smack talk as long as it’s not mean spirited is encouraged.

Above all have some fun with it! We have done this for more than 10 yrs now and it’s a blast. If you made it this far then you need to sign up. You have already proven you are as crazy as we are! Good luck!

COWBOY-KILLA , you might add a short description of how this works to the OP. A lot of the ES folks will already know but there might be new people or folks from BGO who haven’t experienced the madness before. And who are scratching their heads a little bit. Just a short description would help generate interest.

When we get there, if there are questions about how the features on the board work or how to do something, you can ask them here and tag me and I can help get them answered.

I will try to fidn the rules from ES. We can start there. They were pretty detailed. I may have a copy.

COWBOY-KILLA I will take Atl and Minn unless someone wants Minny.

That gives us 5 confirmed for the mock which means we are 10 teams in with each owner picking two teams....... 11 more owners to go..

Lets see if we can bring is some folks that maybe have only been over here. Not sure how best to do that.

I'm 1000% interested and likely willing to do 2 teams...

Would love a little insight into what the details are, even if it's just the cliffnotes.

The cliffnotes are that the draft takes place over about two weeks. Giving each team around 8-12 hours to select. If they dont select we move on to the next team. Lets say they select in 20 min after its their pick, the next team is up and has 8-12 hours to select. You can take your whole allotted time but we really love people who step up and make their picks asap. That's it really.. Goskins10 and I and everyone else help administrate the whole thing and keep things moving when people are not around for work, life, or whatever reason.

what's the goal?

Build the best roster for the team you have or predict what the picks are going to be for the draft?

We've updated the OP with the rules for the Mock Draft. If anyone remembers anything else that we missed please let us know and we will update

Right now the list is as follows:

Cowboy-Killa: Skins and Browns
GoSkins10: Atlanta and Minnesota
Skinsinparadise: 49ers and Patriots
KillBill26: Denver and Tampa Bay
Gooseneck: TBD and TBD

Oh no. I have no idea who any of these guys are. Truth be told, I never know what’s going on in the draft. I generally read up about the guys we draft after the draft and then develop some type of opinion.

Oh, and I like to punk on know it all but actually knows nothing Mr. arrogant ass Thor Nystrom.

The exception was last year when I watched some games for Maye and Daniels. And came away being more for Maye than for Daniels so clearly I’m dumb as rocks. (Though I’d wager probably still better than Thor.)

I just know how poplar this thread was and wanted to see the tradition continue. And see it exposed to some folks here who might be interested.

But I’ll help any way I can and you need.

Build the best roster for the team you have
I think (if I remember correctly) the discussions at the completion of the draft were the most interesting . Folks defending their picks and debating who did it best.
