The Athletic had the beat writers throw out prospective trades for Hendrickson. Standig threw out our 1st, 2nd (2026) and Allen for Hendrickson and their 2nd this year.

I would do this deal if our 2nd in 2026 is not included. Draft value charts say swapping 29 for 49 is worth a high 3rd. Given the guys who may be available at 29, it may be worth more in this draft. There is bound to be a day 1 starting EDGE at 29 (which is rare in most drafts). If you are the Bengals, it allows you to avoid pidgeonholing yourself to an EDGE with the higher pick

It feels like that as a fan base we are going a little trade crazy. People want to trade for Hendrikson and Metcalf and everyone else. Maybe it's Snyder fatigue, but I don't want to trade away so many picks.

I don't want to trade for anyone in particular. I want to ideally build as much in the draft as possible, and I think that is the strategy they are employing. However, keeping your eye on different trade opportunities is definitely interesting. Getting 1-year contracts over and over means a lot of turnover, but it also potentially means you replace guys (like Fowler) with drafted talent year to year, and eventually you have a rotation of players and talent that is replenishable via the draft (primarily) with fill-ins at FA. That is where Philly is now. The X-factor is managing the cap intelligently while doing this. I am not sure how the Hurts and Barkley contracts will effect them alongside their linemen, but having some blue-chips on the lines *right now* gives them some of that flexibility to have FAs in other spots; then rotate where their expenses are later (RB in draft in a couple of years, I would imagine, to replace Saquon). They just rotated Bradberry+Slay for Dejean+Mitchell.

Yep I have no issue with getting more of these older vets on 1 year deals if if also means we are taking talented young guys to sit behind them.

I think there are OTs, TEs, DTs and CBs with real upside we can draft Day 2 / early Day 3 who can sit for a year and learn from a future HOFer and become the starter in year 2 or 3

And why would he do that when he was owed over 15 million dollars? Restructuring would mean giving him guaranteed money and taking on future cap hits. The exact opposite goal achieved by his release. He was worth nothing in trade (obviously)

I still think Howell has a chance to be a good QB. Maybe not a great QB, but a good one. Rivera and Bienemy screwed his opportunity in every way possible and yet for half a season he looked pretty damn good.
