1. Tee Higgins, WR

Best team fit: Washington Commanders

The Commanders could pair Higgins with Terry McLaurin to give quarterback Jayden Daniels two true difference-makers on the perimeter. At 6-foot-4 and 219 pounds, Higgins can win at all three levels of the route tree in OC Kliff Kingsbury's system. And with 23 career red zone touchdown catches, he would be a top target for Daniels close to the end zone. Injuries limited him to 12 games in 2024, yet he finished with 73 receptions for 911 yards.

Also, but not really sure if I agree with this one

17. Haason Reddick, Edge

Best team fit: Washington Commanders

Reddick might be looking at a short-term deal after holding out to start the 2024 season before being traded to the Jets. But he has a history of making impact plays, with 59 sacks and 18 forced fumbles over his career. And before last season, he put together three straight campaigns with a pass rush win rate over 20%. Reddick would fill a need for the Commanders on the edge, and I like the fit as a schemed rusher in Dan Quinn's defense.

Redick is probably one of the better FA EDGE rushers but the character is questionable and he has a reputation of beating up on bad tackles and not doing much of anything against legit ones

his history is not great when it comes to being a Team guy... he definitely doesn't 'fit' the mold of the type of guy Peters and co have brought in to this point.
 
And for some reason he decided that taking the Leveon Bell route to getting a bigger paycheck was the way to go. That doesn't seem to be working out for him lately.

Maybe but I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. Dude is a perpetual malcontent who would start complaining about his contract immediately after signing it.
 
I think they are going to need to bring in a starting caliber OL and DL pre-draft (not Riddick). Then see how they improved those spots in the draft and fill in the blanks post draft. My gut is they want an Edge early in the draft

In a way, that's a relief. If the top weapons are removed from temptation then the trenches become the top targets which is how I feel it should be. After all, offense wasn't the problem. We moved the ball well with McLaurin, Noah Brown, OZ, and Ertz. It almost remid me of the Brady Pats. Brady almost never had great weapons. Maybe he'd have a great TE, maybe one great receiver, but by and large his weapons were JAGS that fit the system. Now, I don't mid getting weapons that scare defenses, in fact, I like it, but I think it's starts with the QB and the o line and that's where I want to spend first.

I know we scored a lot of points and racked up a lot of yards last year, but the offense was inconsistent against good defenses. We couldn’t run the ball. The passing game required Jayden heroics. I don’t think you can live like that week to week and expect to contend for a Super Bowl most years, and especially with our more difficult schedule next year.

I do think we need a passing game upgrade and a true #2 WR that can beat man coverage. And we are going to need a TE very soon.

That’s not to say we shouldn’t focus on the trenches. We have money and picks to do both, and the entirety of the talent deficit on the roster likely won’t be fixed just this year.

I honestly think there is a good chance we wind up with Davante Adams on a 2 year deal that we can get out of in one year.
 
I don’t entirely disagree, but I think both approaches have value. A better o line means a better rushing attack and more time before Jayden has to bail out. Better weapons may back the defense off and make them more reluctant to blitz.

That’s why I lean towards a weapon/home run hitter over a standard number two possession receiver if we go that route.

But if I had my choice, I’d focus on the o line first.
 
I'm hoping that they avoid those old WRs who will still probably get close to 20M from somebody.

Slayton would probably be cheap. If they like him. He's younger than McLaurin too.

I'm warming up to the idea of Slayton--he's played with some of the worst QBs in the world, one some of the worst teams, and still put up decent numbers. A decided upgrade over The Browns/Zacchaeus

Again, I don’t really disagree. I guess I partially feel like this FA class sucks and we have a lot of money and needs and should sign impact players where we can.thats part of why I was in favor of Tee Higgins. We need more blue chip players.

So, therein lies a big issue for me.

I don’t want us to sign players just because we have money and need. I want to sign the right players and if they aren’t around this cycle then I would rather sign a bunch of one year contracts again.

I don’t want to pursue good for great money.

I doubt we disagree

The only thing I want out of free agency is size and athleticism in the trenches. I’d throw money at Mekhi Becton, who I think could be a really great right tackle. I’d sign Jed Wills to a prove it deal to see if he could shore up either a guard or tackle position. Moving to the defensive side, I’d sign a dude like Leki Fotu to clog up interior run lanes and take up blocks for Newton to run free. My big free agent spend would be Josh Sweat.

AP signed the prime/biggest FAs we signed last year to 3 year deals. They were LB Luvu, C Biadasz, DE Armstrong, OG Allegretti and LS Ott. I have to wonder if he doesn't do the same next year. For the Ram's OT Jackson might be able to be signed on a 3 year deal, if AP likes the player. We shall know soon and get a better ideal after FA somewhat, how we will draft.

I am highly confident we will not be signing Alaric Jackson. Questionable character and a big tell that the Rams haven’t resigned him ahead of FA

He has been tied to Washington by numerous sources and I have found myself warming to him as well. He has proven to be a very consistent good WR even with questionable QB play.

I see him as a WR2-3. He will probably be looking at a contract similar to what Dyami will be looking at. Based on the past few years, I don't trust Dyami to be the guy we saw at the very end of the year. If these two are my options, I am taking Slayton
