Really great info and reference. This is what I was afraid of, with or without metro access. But money talks and "other options or solutions" may be accommodated with said money? Ie off site parking with free transport? IDK? I am sure the NFL wants a stadium in our Nation's capital. No doubt about that. $$$

Thank you for your post

RFK had a seating capacity of around 57,000 and handled that quite well before the Metro was built. I assume the seating capacity of the new stadium will be more than 57,000 but below that of FedEx/Northwest. The Metro and some multilevel (aka garages) should absorb the increased capacity.

I almost asked about whether they could put in some garages but figured it wasn't really a thing at football games because it'd be an absolute nightmare trying to get out of them after the game.

Maybe a specialy designed garge or two made specifically with fast egress in mind.

They have them at Nationals Park. Not a lot of fun to deal with, but game traffic never is fun.

That stadium looks fucking amazing. I assume we have already had architects working on stadium designs and are unlikely to contract with a small architecture group based on a great rendering, but I hope our actual stadium design is just as inspired.

I'd assume there are a lot of logistics that go into stadium design that a small firm wouldn't be great at. Mundane stuff. How many bathrooms and where to place them. How much space for vendors. Stadium acoustics. HVAC for a huge stadium fitting 70,000 people. I'm guessing there are a relatively small number of companies that specialize in stadiums etc.

Here is another example that came up on youtube 16 hrs ago

Looks like a spaceship from an 80s movie but definitely cool design and really like all the extra stuff around the stadium.

One problem, based on that rendering where the hell would people be able to park?

FedExField has one! I'm sure the new RFK will have one too.

Most stadiums - I really don't know. I would assume so. Yes, NW Stadium has a few holding cells. I saw them and a bunch of other stuff when they gave the Fan Captains a tour of the stadium.

He had me right up to changing the color scheme of the team to Red, White, and Blue.

Hard pass.
