What Would You Like For The New Name Of This Team?

If we re-integrate some sort of Native American imagery, I'd go with (1) RedHawks, then (2) Warriors. If its too sensitive a topic, then (3) RedWolves or (4) RedHogs. Something that will mesh with the fight song. Have they started playing the fight song at the stadium again, or is its that terrible new rendition of it they broke out a couple years ago under Snyder?

It's the terrible new rendition of it they broke out a couple years ago under Snyder. But the fans, I think, sing it the old way. :p

I like Burgundy & Gold better, but it's not our worst option, and we already own a trademark for it.

I just feel like half the anger is at the idea of Redskins’s going away.
And the other half is at a new name because no new name will make everyone happy.

So you return to Redskins’s officially, retire it (we’ll use it referencing the past but no longer officially use it going forward), and say we’re just the Washington football team. Call it a day.

Name is retired, not replaced. No new name for people to argue about. Seems like the easiest solution to me.

To me the only bad part is the change to that name occurred under Snyder so it’ll always kinda have that undertone. But I think we’d get over it quickly.

WTF-- Why did Harris keep that piece of **** cover edition of Hail to the Redskins? And also, why is that dumb*** pig thing still running around on the sideline?

I wouldn't even do this dance. Just let Redskins be whatever it's going to be, which is basically the name in the context of the football team. Strength, courage, pride, perseverance, ... that type of thing.

We're already basically doing as you said by not officially using it except in a past reference.
 
I love the RedWolves, but I can get down with just about anything other than Commanders.

And believe it or not, as much as I enjoy talking about it, and I also think it's THE single most important thing they have to get done this offseason more than anything related to what happens on the field...

.... Even I'M getting weary of the conversation. I'm ready for it to be done-but that won't happen until either A.) They come out and state the C-word is here to stay (Please God NO) or B.) They announce the new branding once and for all.

No chance this carries into next season. One or the other will happen this offseason. Preferably, the latter.

Yes definitely I’m hearing it the old way.

One of my favorite highlights of the season personally was filing out it the midst of the crazy Hail Mary celebration and everybody in the concourse starting singing hail to the redskins

I’ve stated my opinion on this multiple times and in various threads, on various forums, and my top choices remain Wolves, Warriors, Sentinels, Red Wolves. Any of those 4 would make me happy.

I can live with Commanders being the forever name if they continue to alter and enhance the brand like they did this season.
The Raise Hail slogan in the gothic font makes me want to buy stuff that has that look.

What would make me MOST happy on this topic though is ownership putting it completely to rest this off-season. Either the name/brand is going to change or it is not. The fans need this issue decided one way or the other so we can move forward. I know this is not the current owners fault or their doing, but they are the only ones who can resolve the “name” issue.

Redhawk is a bird. More specifically, a red tailed hawk.

Miami University of Ohio used to be the Redskins, but capitulated before we did and became the Redhawks. I believe they also have encouraged us to adopt that name.

Think about it bro. We can regain much of what we lost. We can use our past helmet logos and our scripted Rs. The only thing that would have really changed was swapping Skins for Hawks. Harris can have a press conference and say something like, "We are returning to tradition with dignity." It's the way to go. :cool:
 
I like Burgundy and Gold (BOLD) the most.
Good with WFT.
Fine with redhawk, warriors, or anything similar as long as the unis get closer to classic skins and most importantly we get our logo back.

It is asinine I have to endure the tomahawk chop (which seems like an old Hollywood stereotype and offensive) as well as the NA imagery every time I get stuck with the Chiefs on my screen, but the most iconic and beautiful logo in NFL history made by and for NAs has been cancelled.
 
One that was often mentioned was the Red Tails, after the Tuskegee Airmen unit. Personally not my favorite, but I’d take it over commanders.

I’m not picky and I’d be happy with any of these names:

Braves
Warriors
Wolves
Redwolves
Redhawks
