Last night I got texts from a 49er fan ex-coworker I haven’t heard from in probably 10 years and a Jets fan college roommate I haven’t talked to in at least five years. My buddy who’s a Giants fan also texted me to tell me he’s rooting for us the rest of the way, which is, in my opinion, rather insane. 🙂

Funny thing...and probably an odd thing to remember..... back sometime in the 90's they had the ESPN crew set up outside the stadium....and it cracked me up that Chris Berman was wearing shorts along with his sports jacket and tie and he was always brushing his hair when the cameras weren't broadcasting. That, and the women were swooning over Steve Young...

I was browsing Reddit today to see how Cowboy fans, in particular, were reacting.

Many admitted jealousy that we purged Snyder and are even saying they hope we do well… will always hate us but understand what bad ownership is.

Almost felt bad for them.

One thing to add. To go into Detroit, against a team that good, and get the win ON TOP of getting no help from the zebras.

That push by Joseph on Jayden Daniels when he was 5+ yards out of bounds, I was shocked. Every QB is gonna get that call.

The holding on Noah I on Amon Ra. Couldn't believe they threw it.

And the facemask on Fowler. What a huge play at the time. HOW DO YOU THROW A FLAG FOR FACEMASK WHEN YOU NEVER ACTUALLY SAW THE HAND TOUCH THE FACEMASK. it made me feel like goodell had chiefs vs lions written in sharpie. But we responded every time.

We had a few questionable calls against us.

But Luvu’s hit on Goff wasn’t called…. and I’m sorry, that 4th down PI call on Joseph against Terry was a flop by Terry. Joseph played it damn near perfect… there was no way he flipped Terry around with his hand on his waist.

I guess my takeaway is that I don’t feel the zebras were a major factor in this game. Either way.

I have been singing Dyami Brown's praises all year. He didn't see the field much the last three seasons, and I can imagine he had some frustration. But he never once complained, he put his head down and continued to work hard. And it has certainly paid off this year. Really proud of that guy.

I have seen people advocating for drafting a RB, which I don't understand, because Brian Robinson does the job imo. He runs hard period and has more than enough speed and power. He is also 25. Bring back Ekeler and McNichols and let them all grind. Great game, BRob.

There were so many big plays it is hard to pick one. The turnovers clearly were big. Quan Martin pick 6 was gigantic and swung the point differential significantly in our favor. Going for it on 4th and 2 with 8:18 left was a ballsy call, and guess what, JD to TMac works again. Quinn knows his team.

Super proud of this team. Resilience. We went for it early and failed to convert with that weird Mariota sneak, but it didn't prevent them from sticking to the game plan.

I don't think you need a pick me up this morning, but if so, come next Sunday at 3pm, the Dallas Cowboys will officially be the only team since 1996 to not have appeared in an NFC Championship game.

Living in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area is surreal right now.

Over the holidays I was at the butcher's counter at my local market wearing my Washington Football Team 3/4 zip. The butcher who called my number got really excited when he saw me and started yelling about how great our team is this year. Then he changed gears and went off on the new name - wishing we had left it at "Football Team". Lots of people standing around were nodding and agreeing the whole time with a fair number of people mentioning Daniels by name. As I was leaving the area, one of the other butcher's working the counter who was wearing a Cowboys sweatshirt waved to catch my eye and wished us luck in the playoffs. I was gobsmacked.

This happens almost every time I'm out in public now (cause I'm always wearing the colors). It's amazing.

You can't make this shit up.

The number of times I've been wearing gear and getting stopped, talked to total strangers (and as many know, I do not like people, in general), that vibe is back.

Preach! I was 11 the last time. This feeling is just amazing.

My 11 year old daughter knows to strike when the iron is hot, lol. Feeling amazing, good vibes all around. "Dad, can we go out for breakfast?" Sure! "Can we go to Target?" Of course! LOL. And like others have mentioned, wearing Commanders gear, being stopped and cheering with other fans -- AWESOME. Happened several times out today. It's been forever.

These guys really play for eachother 100%. Scrap and claw, no matter the circumstances. Not shook, and always have eachother's back. Shoutout to all the players KDawg mentioned. Everyone balled out. Even Allen was getting pressures and making an impact.

And the petty side of me -- so pumped to shove it to Ben Johnson. Not bad for some "basketball guys", huh punk!? And to those Lions fan podcast who were talking wreckless. Go dye your hair bright blue like St. Brown and cry in a corner!

barely slept. still feels so unreal. definitely need to give credit to the coaching staff for the two biggest in-season adjustments that I think helped them get to this point.

1. cutting loose dead weight in the secondary and moving Mike Sainristil to the outside. don't know if that's where he should be forever...but was the right move this season
2. Kliff not having hubris about his system and moving Terry around instead of keeping him isolated on one side all the time

I woke up a little later than usual today. Polished off a bottle of Lagavulin last night. Sat on my couch watching T.V. in a stunned silence until 3am. I feel so incredibly grateful to be able to see this team’s resurgence. Last night I was able to experience this win with my son who is only a couple years younger than I was the last time we went to the NFC Championship game. We have had some successful seasons over the last 33 years but not one of them felt like this for me. Things just feel different now. Our team is peaking at the right time.

The crazy thing is even after yesterday's game, I suspect no one would want OZ, Dyami, or Crowder as their starter. We made it to the NFC Championship game with one star and castoffs as far as the NFL braintrust is concerned.

It's funny. As NFL fans, our baseline reaction to going for it on 4th down is fear and angst and dreading the 'what if we fail...' ramifications. But after awhile, you just have to embrace it and relish that we are putting the opponent's defense on notice that we aren't afraid of them. I really think at this point, it's the other team's defense and coaching staff that is feeling fear in those situations. I absolutely love this mindset.

Until this season I was always a "take the points" guy. I always felt a failed 4th down is a devastating blow to a team that swings momentum. But when they convert 87% you kind of get onboard As someone posted I love how our team is gangsta.
