The 2025 Draft Thread

Could restructure the deal. However, I bet we draft one within the first 3 rounds.

As far as a fit perspective goes. I’m not sure. He wouldn’t be the game breaker you’d want from a speed perspective . But he can run and catch and even lines up as WR. He can do some of everything and will leave everything out there.

I’m not suggesting we should draft him, but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have pretty good success for somebody in the NFL.

I don’t know about everyone else, but my point was draft related. We aren’t settled on the IDL. Maybe with Newton, in terms of a penetrating 3 technique, but not in terms of an actual big body that can help us against the run, but still generate a pass rush. I don’t think it’s our priority, but like last year, if one is available at great value, I wouldn’t be floored if we went there/
 
Please no more defensive tackles at least not early for a year or two.
We all spent years begging this team to use high draft capital on the interior of the d line and now it feels like we've been locked in the closet with a carton of cigarettes and not let out until it's gone.

I'm ready for some blue chip talent at the flashier positions like reciever or running back.

We got our quarterback, we can fill the lunch pail spots through free agency and day 3 picks, now I want our justin jefferson and or jahmyr gibbs.
 
I like how AP is a no BS type of guy and cuts players no matter where they were drafted. Either you produce or we will find somebody else
 
Watching this Dallas game it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if we went interior Dline or edge in the 1st.....especially if we could somehow land Higgins in FA

I think FA will be pretty telling on what we plan to do in the draft. Would love Higgins. We have lots of needs still and still not sure what the strengths of theirs class are. Right now LT, WR, DL, and CB my top draft priorities prior to FA not really any order

CB is deep in Free agency- I am hoping that we can get a good OT to drop in the first or second. I wish I knew the problem with our run defense. Is Payneswoth not coming through? Is it scheme. If Lattimore comes through and we get a good CB in FA can we put another player in the box?

I think we need a LG also..Payne and Allen have been a disappointment this year and i would try to trade Payne and release Allen.The amount of money those two are making they should be clogging g the middle of the DL.

I think scheme has a lot to do with it. Playing only two LB, and one being a gap-shooting, downhill player, leaves you susceptible, unless you have really good safeties that can get into run support quick, and make tackles. Chinn and Wagner are good players, but their better days are behind them. Gonna need to find replacements sooner rather than later.

We’ve got a ton of money invested in IDL, so I don’t see going there early in the draft, but would not be opposed to a monster run stuffer on day 3.

I do not think anyone would trade for Payne and his salary number is a killer:

With Newton on board as a quick DT who can get penetration vs the pass, he needs to be paired with a road grader that just shuts down the run with brute physical play.

We have too many ‘finesse’ DL and not enough tough guys with size and strength.

I decided to mess around with an online mock draft simulator and tried to maximize the number of future picks. I ended up with this and don't exactly hate it:

I think his last game propelled him into the 2nd/3rd round . . . i think his 4.7 40 means he is no worth that. LOVE his heart and determination, but this is the NFL and there are so big ass, bad ass, fast ass defensive players out there!

I kind of agree, though given how often we’re having to rush 5, and how often we don’t get pressure (especially against good olines) whether we send 4 or 5, I think a good pass rusher would go a long way. I’m guessing an edge, but doesn’t have to be. I also like that it could put Fowler or Armstrong into more of a sub role, which I think they might both be better suited to. As of now, DE is my top prediction for their 1st round pick (even if it’s maybe priority 3-5).
