I was actually hopping the would get Prime Jr. because he seems like a bust waiting to happen.

Our D needs an overhaul and depth. With the points that our O puts up (decent) and looking at the points the D gives up (horrible), the D needs some major work.

But to play a little Devil's Advocate: We are currently in 9th place in yards allowed per game. We are a top 10 defense in terms of yards allowed. (Part of that is TOP). We are 19th in points allowed.

I don't think we need one side of the ball or the other; we need to upgrade everywhere we can and do our best to strengthen the entirety of the roster.

Washington needs to protect Daniels better. We need a RT that doesn’t get overpowered like Wylie.

While that’s not a top 20 pick IMO it SHOULD be a strong consideration in Round 2.

This team needs a lot and I could see CB, WR or Rush DE being the top pick.

Protecting Daniels should be the #1 priority. Coleman could be a great replacement for Wylie. They need to focus first on a LT.

Rookies have growing pains outside of the truly great generational players like Trent Williams.

And we won’t be picking at #4 to take a guy like that.

JD does and amazing job working with what he has to make the O legit as we rank 5th overall. The team has performed above and beyond most peoples expectation. I know mine. I don't know if DT Jon Allen is in the team's plans for 2025. We shall see. Newton only has one year under his belt and hopefully he plays better in 2025.

Even though they're practically opposite quarterbacks in terms of style, I would look at what Tom Brady needed.

Brady almost never had top tier talent at receiver. Maybe Gronkowski and an aging Moss for a short span. What he did with average receivers over twenty years was crazy. Now, part of that was his quick release and insane study habits (Daniels may have these qualities, too) but what else made the Patriots so effective? Was it their line? Was it scheme fit? Was it a quality that the receivers shared? For example, while they may not have been blazers maybe all of them were really quick twitch and so were elite at beating their man off the ball? Was it the line?

But in thinking about Brady it is hard to think of many running backs or wide receivers or weapons in general that other teams envied. So, building around Daniels ought to be about building around what he needs to be his best self.

I would think and hopefully coaches and DQ/AP too will listen to what JD says and puts it into FA and the draft. He's a special QB and were we fortunate to get him.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do in FA. At tackle, I think Cam Robinson is the only legit starting option who hits FA and he is the typical guy who is average who will get overpaid due to lack of supply. I think this is a very strong focus area Day 1. Despite the injury, if he is there, take Josh Simmons. He reminds me of Paris Johnson with more of a mean streak.

I do think receiver is loaded in FA and is going to get even deeper once guys like Deebo get let go. I think we can bring in 1-2 upgrades via FA, meaning we can punt on using a Day 1 or Day 2 pick in the draft. If LB3 is there when we pick, take him but very unlikely he falls to us and can’t plan on it

I would absolutely think about using the second round pick on RB. We absolutely need an upgrade to BRob or, at the very least, a 1A to his 1B. I really like both OSU backs - I think Hendo has more home run speed

CB is a need but you can consistently find solid CB2s on a cost effective contracts. I’d target a Adebo, Yiadom, Mike Jackson etc on a 1 year deal

I'd guess personnel makes up for a huge percentage of it. Thankfully, for an team with 11 wins so far. They also have a ton of cap room and almost their entire draft picks. With DQ, you know he wants better DL play and certainly better DB play. I'd bet they address everything from those to WR to TE to maybe OL and RBs in both the draft and free agency.

That's why you have AP and DQ instead of Dan and Vinny. It's not signing FAs in Madden. It's signing the right FAs who fit what you're trying to do like they did last offseason. They need to kick ass next offseason. I'm hopeful.

Heard an interview with Vinny a couple of months ago. Apparently, he NEVER wanted Jeff George. They were at the owner's meetings and Vinny was told by Snyder and Fred Drasner to sign George. Vinny went to Norv and told him to act like it never happened so they couldn't sign him. Then, after the owners found out George wasn't signed, they went to him and told him they are the bosses and ordered Vinny to sign Jeff George. Vinny might have had a ton of faults, but his 1st rounders were significantly better than Ron's were.

What Harris, Peters, and Quinn have done in one season is extraordinary. They’ve taken one of the most moribund franchises in the NFL, and turned it around 180 degrees. They hit on draft picks, getting the “golden goose” franchise QB. They’ve instilled a culture of camaraderie and togetherness, and reinvigorated a dormant giant of a fan base.

I think Peters understands how to build a successful NFL team by getting the right “glue guys” to supplement the star players. With the salary cap, you’re always going to have a small percentage of stars making a larger percentage of the cap. Key is to get the right stars, and use the draft to fill in the spots. It’s a bit of a juggling act, but Peters seems to be exceptional at it.

With the money at his disposal, I think Peters may go after one or two big FAs this offseason. I’d love to get a Reed, or Ward at CB to play opposite Lattimore. Insert Mikey at slot, and you have the makings of a top secondary. Offensive line is another place I could see him spend on, but the FA tackle position is weak this year.

Could see Peters take a shot at lesser guys that could help the defense also, like a Zac Baum, and/or a Malcom Koonce, if they fit the profile of guys Peters and Quinn are looking for.

Something like this would free Peters up to go BPA in the draft, and try to get some weapons around JD5. Whatever they do, these guys have earned my trust by what they have accomplished so far. The future sure looks a lot brighter than it did a year ago.

On that level, I wonder who were the non-re-signs that Peters felt he had to get rid of not because of talent, but to change the culture. I've never seen the kind of roster churn in one offseason that we experienced and I can't believe it was only about talent or scheme fit. Part of me recalls all the fights our players have had with coaches over the years because the coaches wanted them to learn or use a different technique. I wonder who were the guys who held that kind of stubborness who Peters thought would carry forth with them bad habits and attitude?
