Random Commanders Thoughts

I may need to travel to a game next year to meet some people

I hope Ertz's concussion isn't serious. If not, Kingsbury will need to really look at what Sinnott does well to try to mitigate the lost production. Being down Eckler, Brown, and Ertz would really be a blow.

Did think Luke looked pretty dynamic on the kick returns. That was nice to see.

Yeah, he looks really bad. He's getting sacked a ton too, so he either has really bad luck or there are a lot of sacks that are on him. I had the same thought about getting something for him. At this point, Peters getting anything for him looks like he fleeced the Seahawks.

He took a ton of sacks going back to college, then here, now there. It’s a hallmark of his play, his awareness in the pocket is horrendous. “Sacks are a QB stat” is a pretty true theory in my opinion. That alone can kill you in this league as a viable QB, even setting aside anything else (like his inability to see the middle of the field, and his poor decision-making).

There's part of me that thinks that Daniels' play and all those sacks were beause he was in Lousiana yesterday. I think he felt he had to perform for his "home" crowd, for his LSU backers. He took off running way too often and took too many hits. I think he wanted to show his college fans how he was still the man.

I don’t know, I tend to think that there’s not always an identifiable non-football reason for this stuff. I try not to psycho-analyze stuff that can just be explained by this being a tough sport where guys have certain tendencies and skill-sets.

My post above was about Howell, but in regards to Daniels—he also took a lot of sacks in college, but they were much less costly because they were consistently close to the LOS as he was scrambling towards the line. It was rare for him to have an egregious loss from a Caleb Williams-esque sack 14 yards in the backfield. That’s part of his magic. Does he still look to run a bit too often when the pressure’s on? Sure, but he’s a rookie with one legit WR and not much YAC help

Any chance the team stayed in NO overnight?
I doubt it. Teams usually head to the airport after the game. Maybe a player or coach or two stay around. But they have Monday morning meetings and training and therapy to do at the facility. And yes, despite the belief of one, the players will be in for training on Mondays like every other day even if it’s not an official practice day. So they almost certainly go home with the team and if a few stay, they probably just take a later flight or a very early morning flight to be back at the facility today.

Is it me or does Sirianni’s face begs to be punched?
Talking about Sirianni, has anyone seen the footage where their DL Carter slapped the helmet of Heyward the TE yesterday of the Steelers (not Cam but his younger brother) and Sirianni went over the yell at him and a Coach of the Eagles stood between them (and seemly he had more control then Sirianni did) and Carter was on the bench laughing…. The Eagles win regardless of Nick Sirianni… he’s clearly way over his head, better be thankful the Eagles are a good team, cause he’s a horrible HC

I’ve been thinking about why Sinnott and especially MaCaffrey aren’t getting any throws. Everyone says Mac is open a lot. So I’m wondering if his route depth or angle or the reads are not consistently what JD is expecting. So he has a hesitancy to let the ball go. Kinda the same with Sinnott. It’s weird to me.

Yeah, he doesn't seem to trust anyone besides Terry, Zach Ertz, and Noah Brown. I expected Sinnott to be another Chris Cooley, but so far he's nearly invisible.

McLaurin should eclipse the in season total touchdown record of some all time Redskins. That is amazing, but in fairness to guys like Charley Taylor. Their season only lasted 12 games. Still, a heckuva an achievement.

Wondering what a whole other off season will bring us. Another step in familiarity could be major.
This is only possible if our personnel *overall* improves. There are going to be cap casualties, and other realities that the team deals with, but you need overall improvement.

With Peters at the helm, I have confidence that overall that is exactly what will happen.

For the previous 23+ years (!!??!?!#@!#?@##) I had 0 confidence that would happen.

After that, it's up to the coaches.
