Official Game Thread - Week 15 - Commanders @ Saints

There was a table of 12 at the restaurant last night that flew in from the DMV for the game. 10 Washington fans and, of course, 2 wearing Cowboys gear. 🤣

Seriously though they are a ton of fans in the French Quarter already and 90% are sporting Redskins gear.

I agree with Smith. The Saints head coach was fired midway through the season and he brought in quite a number of the players on defense to fit his scheme, so the morale over there can't be that high.

This is another team that only gains incentive through YOUR poor play and keeping them around in the game.

If you come out and show you are going to fight for 60 minutes and be crisp and effective, these guys are going to be headed for the gate in the second half.

Most of the players in NO know a new HC and management group coming is going to make roster changes, these guys just want to end the season healthy and have a chance to move on from a dumpster fire.

As Lattimore said he is glad to be HERE.

Rex Ryan is still salty his dad got fired as a result of Joe Gibbs and the Washington Redskins playoff triumph. Will Sirianni get canned as a result of Quinn?
 
Sirianni is going to get canned if the Eagles lose their first playoff game. I think that's a given.

Barkley has been the best thing for Sirianni, the running game has meant Nick doesn't have to do too much active coaching from the sidelines on Sundays.

Because Pederson won them the Lombardi, and they wrongly betrayed even him?
 
Pederson as we have learned in Jacksonville is not a great coach. I think he was a guy that had a talented team that came together and rode their emotion in the playoffs to a championship.

The Eagles were never able to replicate that chemistry and production subsequently.

And right now, their chemistry is awful. Brown has called out Hurts, Graham said something about Brown? Or was it Hurts?

Young was a strange prospect in that he was seen as “can’t miss” and yet he was one of the only blue chip EDGE prospects in recent history to never put measurables on the board for teams. We have no idea how athletic he actually was or wasn’t because he knew he didn’t need to work out for teams to go in the top-2.

He’s clearly lost a couple steps, some explosion, and some interest in the game. But I’m not sure if he was ever the physical specemin people insisted he was. We’ll never know but EDGE is one of the positions where raw athleticism and testing numbers actually do correlate strongly to elite pass-rushing ability—and I never felt like he looked like a FREAK out there lined up against anybody. Most of his sacks when he was younger were Kerrigan-esque effort sacks, not elite physical demolition or blazing speed around the edge. I think he was secretly a rather pedestrian athlete (in comparison to the freaks that usually take over the league at EDGE).

He seemed like he was so good his rookie year--literally took over the 9ers game that year. I really thought he was going to be dominant. I think the most telling play, though, was him giving up on the Jahmyr Gibbs run in the playoffs.

Oh you don't know the glory that are beignets? They are fucking amazing. But you are right, they are kinda like funnel cakes.
