Official Game Thread - Week 15 - Commanders @ Saints

I watch the games after with NFL+. When it’s nationally televised I like to watch live. It stinks that they are showing Cowboys instead, I thought based on this past weeks games, the Washington game was going to be nationally televised. Well, based on the advertisements.

No bias, but I imagine most nfl fans would say Washington is more interesting. Im hoping the Panthers kick the crap out of the cowboys.

Noah Brown suffered a serious internal injury during the last game and will be out for awhile. Likely that it is a season-ending injury.

Andrew Wylie and Marshon Lattimore are cleared for full practice today.

~ per Dan Quinn from today’s media availability

Noah Browns injury is hopefully a blessing in disguise for Luke McCaffrey. I strongly hope Kingsbury does not decide to give Dyami Brown the extra snaps. Time to see if all those separation metrics that tout Luke are real.

I don’t see McCaffrey having the trust of the staff to get targets as the #2.

We signed Osborn for the stretch run and likely will look to Brown on the outside and more targets to the TEs.

Bills defense is a joke. Watching that game last week I re-learned why Buffalo doesn’t beat the Chiefs when it counts in the playoffs.

Their entire roster stood there and watched Allen make individual plays, but they never thought about contributing to the effort.

I really thought the Bills at 10-2 would at least dint the Rams playoff chances.

All of the good teams we face show up and play.

Again, what a joke.

That may be true or it may be that we signed Osborn for depth because if anyone else gets hurt we're screwed. You guys are probably right that they signed him to be the steady vet and lower risk receiver, but I imagine it would take him a few weeks to really get up to speed and for Daniels and him to get their timing down. So, in the short tem, Z, Brown, and McCaffrey still will get their opportunity to step up.

Right now, if I had to guess, reads will go A) McLauren B) Ertz C) everyone else. Brown's injury actually highlights what we lost when Eckler went down. We really could use that outlet third down back with the receiver corp thinned. Hopefully, they can figure it out.

My bet is in the game after New Orleans you will see Osborn active and catching passes.

Brown has shown no ability to be consistent and McCaffrey evidently is so raw he is an easy cover for a veteran DB.

Dont agree about McCaffrey. Everything we're seeing is that he's creating separation when he's on the field. Not sure why he hasn't been a focal point, but every time he HAS been targeted, he's generally open and easily available.

I don't necessarily disagree about the Osborn part, but I also don't think it's fair to write McCaffrey off as an 'easy cover.'

Osborn hasn't done jack shit this year on a roster with no receivers, what makes anybody think he's gonna come in here and be our number 2?

At least with brown he was coming off a roster that was stacked at receiver.

I'd be surprised if he was anything more than the best option available to be the last receiver on our roster but I've been wrong plenty of times before.

I expect Crowder to be back on the active roster this week.
I think KJ Osborn may steal that roster spot - he's a solid 50 catch a year guy. I think Crowder will spell Olamide if the need ever arises. I am happy to ignore his NE stats and look at what he did with a real QB/coach the 3 years before.

Odd ESPN doesn't list his height and weight... time to find a new stat source

Just heard from my friend that was going to this game with us, that his daughter has had a medical emergency, and he can’t make the trip now. I now have one ticket, lower level, if someone wants to make a last minute jaunt down to New Orleans this weekend. PM me if interested.

And so it begins.

A little surprising. I mentioned last night that in 3 games this season, the Spencer Rattler-led offense could only muster 45 points. Haener has a year more experience albeit it sitting on his ass on the bench. You'd think if they thought that highly of Haener, they wouldn't have drafted Rattler a year and a round later in 2024?

I actually think this is a positive for us as, although Rattler hasn't looked great so far in 2024, he does have some significant athletic ability as SilentThreat talked about last night on our podcast.
