So when will the Redskins Logo get back on the helmet and playing field?

The name Commanders came from Snyder calling his junk Little Commander. Him and Tanya got a kick out of calling the team a name after his private parts. You cannot convince me otherwise.

So, are you frustrated with fans continuing to talk about it ?
Or, do you wish ownership would just shoot down the idea ?

With the name being as unpopular as it is, and with ownership not ruling out the possibility of a change, which they absolutely have not, ... some fans are going to continue to talk about it.
Well they have shut down Redskins, but people are still going on about that. Common sense says they won't--even if they do, it's still going to piss off half the fanbase if their name isn't picked. Also, Harris said they are looking to unite the fanbase--another name change--our fourth in the last 5 years--will not do that.

Harris and Rales have also said that they are " doing research ".

If we did change again to a better name, let's say in the next couple years, years from now, is anyone going to be saying " Yeah, this is better than Commanders, but that was our fourth time. Should have never done it. "

No one will be saying that.

We can do better than Commanders. So, why wouldn't we ?

Didn’t Dan want to be “Commander in Chief?”

Because you don't build a brand by changing it every year. More and more people are accepting Commanders. The more they win, the less likely it changes.

The name didn't fare too well in the survey that was done in the offseason by the research firm from Maryland.

But again, why would you accept something when you can have something better ?

How do you know you'll like it better? How many people will cry "it's as bad as Commanders??" People are never happy. I'm perfectly ok with Commanders now--it's bland, it's boring, but they're building an identity and winning under the name. It's fine.

I continue to agree with this sentiment. I find myself torn hoping for something better and also trying to accept the reality the name may not change. I have to say I think this season the #RaiseHail logo and flags with that old world style font have much improved the brand.

I'm fairly certain that's one of the main taskings of the new President. Improve the brand. They can't change the name until 2027 anyway, I don't think

Because it would be so hard to do worse.

How many people will cry "it's as bad as Commanders??"

Almost no one.

People are never happy.

If you mean you cant please everyone, that's true, but you can please more than you have with Commanders.

Any " identity " they've built under Commanders would continue under another name.

Because of new ownership, they can change the name anytime they want.

You think these. You can't possibly know them. There are a lot of name worse than Commanders: Belters? Monuments? Crap and crap.

And people said that about Redskins--people like Danny Rouhier, who now whines about the name incessantly. Disagreeing with that dickbag is usually a safe bet.

That's true, and a name like that would be just as bad or worse.
Do you honestly think they would choose a name like that ?

I don't think so.

It sounds like you're saying you don't think they should change again just because it would be another change.
I'm saying change to something better while you can.

I haven't seen a lot of evidence that suggests the HOG group does much, if anything, worse than Snyder & Co.

I think at the very least they actually do the fan involvement and market research that Snyder lied about doing. Also, I doubt Harris let's his wife design any new unis.

So, I caught some of Al Galdi's podcast last night. He had Michael Phillips on. Phillips has been covering the team for years and host a show on 910 TheFan here in Richmond.
Galdi asked about the possibility of a rebrand.
" 100% percent I think there will be a rebrand. They've had two years to try to get people to rally around Commanders and they haven't done that."
" I think it's an objectively bad name
" Has the Snyder stench to it, and always will. "
Said he's been asked what if they win the Super Bowl ? He said that would be a wonderful " problem " to have.
He said Harris is going to want to monetize his investment. He wants to win, but he also wants to make money.
Said Harris would want a " globally exciting brand " to go along with the new stadium. " I think 100%, a rebrand is coming. "

Galdi then asked him, when ?
Said they could play the long game and tie it in with the stadium in 2030, but that Daniels play, may have accelerated the process

For whatever that may be worth.

As long as questions remain on their long-term plans the brand will never achieve its full potential. People will hold off on fully embracing anything until it is clear the issue is settled for the next 100 years.

Just a nitpick, but it would be THIRD name change, not fourth. It would be the fourth name, but they've only changed names twice (from Redskins to the place-holding WFT and from WFT to Commanders). I don't think anyone would mind if they did it right on the third CHANGE (third time's a charm, after all).

What's surprising to me is how many seem to feel nostalgic for WFT. I guess the subversive side of me enjoyed calling us the Washington Teamsters, but I also thought that WFT was a WTF quality name.

Ok. Let's just clarify :)

1. From Braves to Redskins
2. From Redskins to WFT
3. From WFT to Commanders
4. From Commanders to a better name

Exactly.
