Actually neither the left nor the right knows anything about Sarah Palin.
I realize that O’Reilly is an opinion show. But because he includes liberal guests, you get multiple opinions and there is nothing wrong with having your views shaped by multiple opinions. A far as straight reporting goes, it simply doesn’t exist anymore (if it ever really did.) That’s why I read the Washington Post, the New York Times as well as the National Review and the Weekly Standard. That way I get multiple view points.
And besides that I can always talk to my socialist son and get my butt whipped by him in a debate.
Alaskan....they don't get it. of course we ALL leaven our personal experience and expertise into the equation. the point is that when choosing among evils...Fox is way less disingenuous, manipulative and outright fraudulent than the more liberal outlets. the American people (or at least those segments who pay attention) are finally catching on to the true byline for liberals and liberal media:
- they don't give a damn about minorities, diversity, etc.. what they care about is power. look at how they absolutely savage ANY minority, woman, etc., who doesn't conform to the "agenda"
- they care more about ends, at all costs, than they do about "facts" and professional "ethics". look at journolist, global warming, "in depth" reporting on Obama in 2008, and a thousand other examples. sure Fox has an agenda....but look at the numbers....they don't lie. like it or not....the numbers say more and more people DON'T TRUST the increasingly liberal mainstream media and are turning to Fox to fil lthe void.
- the rhyme about arrogance and elitism happens to ring true. anyone who has grown up around more liberally inclined thinkers...as I did in Bethesda, MD, knows this to be a bedrock truth. the rest of the country is more focused on this now that they don't have jobs and are trying to figure out why
- liberals are crass hypocrites. at least Repubs know when to STFU. my personal favorite is the eternal class warfare games Dems generally, and libs specifically, like to play. look at these people! the libs are all cutting deals on the side or are outright corrupt when it comes to making their riches. or many just marry into it and protect their little piece of the rock (see Nancy and the tuna industry). nothing is more galling than the arrant contempt these people have for the average Joe. the hypocrisy is simply breathtaking: multiple houses, gas guzzling cars, jet setting all over the globe.......and then the ***ks have the gall to incessantly lecture us about global warming. their zoned off lilly white neighborhoods. their mendacity - I knew one lib back in the day who was a prominent (read lead) spokesperson for one Presidential candidate...on TV frequently lecturing us...all the while nursing a nice drug problem and regularly visiting a shrink - is appalling.
- Obama's contempt for the people is in a category all by itself. I have to confess he is the best I have seen in 40 years at the play-pretend aspects of political communication. he has mastered the art of coming on TV and mixing his language in a way that it seems he's using the sing-song and colloquialisms of Joe Average, every now and then sprinkling in a turn of the phrase or diction common to drunk undergraduate communications majors waxing philosophic to rope the "intellectuals" back in, all the while making no commitments whatsoever ("I'll consider"). Look who he has brought to the party with him. Look at who he has hired for his czars and his political appointees. look at who he trusted to execute his agenda at the other end of PA Avenue. Look who is on the WH visitors log. Look at how he has conducted himself on foreign forays. Look at how a lot of the stimulus money was really spent and the promises he made up front on how "Sheriff Joe" was going to police matters. Look at how he uses people like Paul Volcker - feigning his interest in "new" ideas all the while keeping to his personal agenda regardless of how the bulk of the American people feel about it. It's all a big sham......and many Americans are starting to figure out they have been taken to the cleaners.
- The latent violence lurking in much liberal scribbling is truly appalling. I can't relate the number of times I visited liberal blogs in the run-up to the last election and experienced verbal violence. in one instance, on a well known lib blog for a well known paper in the DC area, one frequent "guiding light" poster went so far as to wish for the death of the then sitting President. Did the moderators or the well known pundit step in and publicly admonish the poster? NO. Nothing at all was done....except the duty "I'm with you" notes of sympathy from other well intentioned, highly principled liberal posters.
- These folks are simply wrong in their prognostications so frequently that it is a wonder anyone trusts them. 8% unemployment anyone? Democrat rule for a century anyone? My own belief is that they simply extrapolate too much from their own emotional wellsprings onto the public at large - consistently misjudging human behavior and social movements. this is one reason they have been working so diligently over the last quarter century and more to undermine the media message and the chalkboard lessons in the school system. they are so off the mark they have to change perceived reality to suit their ambitions.
- Let's face it...follow the policies of these morons and you are looking at bankruptcy. in state after state.....that is what is happening.
Personally, I find most offensive the implicit liberal notion that the individual counts for almost nothing. aside from who can marry who and what orifice one can stick his appendage into...the individual counts for nothing in the liberal cannon. you, me, we...all here to serve a State enforced since of collectivist right and wrong. that right and wrong...of course....to be determined by a class of privileged elites (the social "scientists"). You and I don't, in the end, count for **it to these people. what matters to them is how many they can kill at both ends to control population growth, how much work they can get out of us to finance their morally relativistic but "oh so certain" causes, how much behavior they can control to ensure we all live an extra 5 months, how many exclusionary rights they can exercise to preserve their zoned off ocean views, how many of our kids they can keep out of their exclusive private schools...and the list goes on and on.
and they wonder why the folks doing the heavy lifting are starting to get really PO'd. they wonder why these same folks, beginning to understand how they are being played for suckers, see how racial enmities are being stoked to manipulate the electorate.
they wonder how it is we can't see the "intelligent design" behind their religion.
they, regrettably, and sadly, are the enemy within.
