I will say what I have said many times in the past. :)

If this front office knows what it's doing, it won't matter who we pick. In 2012 the Redskins literally picked two pro-bowl caliber QBs in one draft and it didn't matter. If this new front office is competent and prepared, they'll navigate through whatever abilities this new QB has or doesn't have. If the new front office sucks, we'll be bad for the next decade.

So ... I'm not worried about which QB they ultimately decide to pick. It's what kind of environment he steps into that matters.

The New Era is almost upon us. Buckle up. :)

It's nice to know we have someone in the War Room - actually two guys - in Peters and Newmark that are actually going to be awake during the draft :rotflmao:

Hopefully, Harris is out on a boat on the Potomac drinking a tall one and not in the War Room asking 2,152 questions.

By that time the board should be set up and it's time to leave these guys alone to do their work.

The most important part of your post is that the 'New Era is almost upon us'. It's different now and we all need to recognize this. But I also think it's important to remember that even great Front Office's miss on draft picks - especially at QB. We may draft the guy this GM/Front Office believes has the best chance of being 'it' and they could pick the wrong one. It's probably a 50-50 proposition. If it happens, it doesn't mean they need to be fired. You step up and take another swing at it. I also think having an all new coaching staff, probably one of the most experienced in Skins history, will be incredibly crucial in giving whoever we add to the roster the best chance to succeed.

I don't know Boone. After reading for the past couple of weeks that Daniels is almost flawless, I expect to see great quarterback play in 2024 if the team stays at #2 :cheer2:

I know you're being a little snarky, but to be serious for a sec, I think it's the massive roster and coaching turnover we've had that will be the biggest factor in how this team progresses over the next couple seasons. Normally, QB play is a massive factor, and it'll definitely BE a factor, but in 2024 I think it's going to be a work in progress nearly across the board. You never know though, we could be greatly improved despite all of the new pieces and parts OR which QB they end up selecting.

I have yet to read anywhere, and I mean anywhere, that Daniels is almost flawless.

Are there opinions that he is the best that will be available? Yes.
Are there just as many that Maye is? Again, yes.
Are there any that McCarthy is? At least 1 that I know of. 😉

Honestly Chris, I think you made a pretty compelling case that McCarthy should be in the mix at #2 with the stats you posted and highlighting the great intangibles he brings to the table recently. Kudos.

Thank you, John. Sincerely. I hope it didn’t go unnoticed that I tried to do so without taking unwarranted shots at the other candidates. I have seen so much of that along the way (not talking about here) that it makes my skin crawl.

Not at all. You've been extremely even-handed. I think smart fans know, there is not a QB prospect in this draft that there aren't questions about. And those won't be answered anytime soon. I think the most important thing you and others have pointed out is that we have no flipping idea what Adam Peters and Company thinks. I put a lot more stock in conventional wisdom than I should if I'm being honest, probably because it's my nature to dislike uncertainty, so assuming public expert guesswork is accurate is reassuring to me. But I'm prepared to trust this new Front Office 100% no matter who they draft. They deserve that from this fanbase until proven otherwise.

Daniel's comments felt 100% genuine to me. I think it cements the idea the whole'controversy' was manufactured and that, other than having a knucklehead for an agent, the whole thing is a total non-issue.

I was only being a bit tongue in cheek.

From all of the film studies and wrap up shows that compliment Jayden Daniels as a quarterback I am really finding it difficult to see how these same folks just default to CW being the top pick as if it should be pre-ordained.
