Random Commanders Thoughts

I feel that. It's almost impossible to feel excited about the next two weeks. The last thing we had to hold onto was the development of Sam as a player. If we could imagine him becoming the future that was worth watching. With that gone, we have two meaningless games. If they win it doesn't help us next year because it's too late to save Rivera or this front office so I can't imagine any carryover effect. If they lose that's not exciting either except in terms of the draft, but there's no immediate gratification there.

There's nothing for the fans left the spring of 2024 or maybe the coach/GM search a few weeks before that.

Yep. I think watching Sam struggle for the better part of a month, with no help either from his teammates or his coaches, it’s just submarines what remaining hope I had.

I should probably take an extended break and spare the rest of you my snark and vitriol.

Nah, that's what we're here for. Redskins' fans aren't really a fanbase. We're a support group.

I hear you Boone.

Was pulling for Sam hard last week to pull out of it until I resigned myself that he's playing with the deck stacked against him.

As far as the coming blow up/rebuild/strip down is concerned: It's so hard to get up for starting over again, always being at the bottom, looking up for 30 years.
Alot of emotional erosion has happened with our fandom.

Holy Schnikes! Not Scoota!

Damn Niners in trouble now.......

Is it just me or crazy how many of our running backs wound up injured and lost for multiple games considering we never run the damn ball.

So, no London Fletcher much less Jacoby or Brian Mitchell in the HOF finalists this year.

So what else is new? Are they being black balled?

If EB is going to use the saying ‘without any bad luck you wouldn’t have any good luck at all’ in every media session, I wish someone would tell him that ain’t right.

If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all.

Fletcher was overlooked his entire career. I don’t he makes it in, because he wasn’t as flashy as other LBs in his era. Mitchel isn’t a hall of famer. Jacoby will get elected by the veterans committee when he gets to that point. I don’t expect the voters to vote for him at this point, so it will be the veterans committee.

Jacoby is already under the auspices of the Senior Committee and has now been ignored for HOF selection twice.

Interesting. I didn't realize that. I thought you had to be out of the league longer than that.

If Zach Thomas is a HOFer then London Fletcher should be also.
Oh, I agree. I don’t think Zach Thomas is a hall of famer. I think Fletcher was better and did it for longer, but he had much less hype. The voters hold that against him for sure.

I know the HOF is a popularity contest, but London was very well loved by all players and fans I've ever met or talked to.

Him not getting in is one of those weird moments like Jacoby and Clark.

I hesitate to say this, but…I believe that Thomas is in due more to skin color than accomplishment.

That’s possible. But I always felt like it had more to do with him playing for Jimmy Johnson and then Dallas. The hype around Jimmy in Miami was only beat out by anything Dallas. So he got the most possible hype he could get.

It’s his job to put his finger on it. No way I would want to trust this guy with a rookie QB.

I hate that quote but it’s classic JP Finlay clickbait. Bienemy praised Howell up and down, that was just one blurb with no context because Finlay knows it will get a strong reaction.
