Random Commanders Thoughts

I loved his comments today. Hard not to root for him.

I wouldn’t hate it depending on the price tag. That said, ‘expressed interest’ could have been simply a phone call to see what it would take.

I also would hope of they’ve got interest here, I hope they’ve also go interest in any O lineman that may be available (which I know is few and far between)

I don’t think he’s the kind of player that would mesh well with what we are trying to build. And the price would be steep.

Fair, I just know we lack a HR threat in the backfield. He would be one

There is no reason to go after Taylor.

This team has backs, Bieniemy needs to use them and get the line to block for them.

If Indy is giving him away, sure take him and let him play out his rookie contract. But paying for a RB is a losing proposition. Money is best spent elsewhere. Paying a RB after their rookie contract is paying for their decline.

If it’s a giveaway sure though I don’t think we have the cap room to extend him. More, I think we are fine at the skill positions. Robinson hasn’t been the problem. Gibson is a worry.

The problem is the line don’t get distracted by —-

Indy will want more than I want to part with. They will be looking for a 1st or 2nd and we need those picks to add more players to the defensive backfield.

Isn’t getting abused in a trade with the Colts once a decade enough? :ROFLMAO:

Btw - people calling for Taylor as a replacement for Antonio Gibson because he ‘fumbles a lot’. Fact: Taylor has fumbled 8 times in his first 3 seasons, exactly the same number of fumbles as Antonio Gibson had in his first 3 seasons.

He’s very talented, but the ‘RB who doesn’t fumble’ unicorn doesn’t exist.

Gibson is super talented and underrated and I will die on that hill.

Looks like it may be more than just a phone call.

Still paper thin at this point

Yeah I’m more and more disinterested as it settles in, unless it’s an absolute steal. Even then I wouldn’t want to pay him long term what he likely wants

Do we want our team making moves because the owner wants to make a ‘splash’?

They may well be interested, I don’t doubt that. But I would hope it’s because Mayhew and Rivera think it is the right move for the team.

I doubt Harris would push something like this.

We have a lot of mouths to feed on offense already, and no time to do it as it is.

Taylor is an upgrade over any of our current backs but how much of an upgrade? Somehow I don't see it being enough to justify the cost.

There is also the issue of EB leaning away from the rushing side of the attack. Taylor has 104 receptions (7.7 ypc) in 53 games so he can catch the ball but we already have multiple backs who can catch the ball.

If we were talking about an OT, I'd say break the bank but for a RB? M'eh.
