Given that he’s trying to force the Colts to redo his contract and demanding a trade, the Colts might tell him ‘take it or leave it’.
 
Forcey isn’t on the beat but he knows people. I imagine he doesn’t put this out unless he’s actually heard something. That’s why I said still paper thin but at least more than just a phone call

Feels like someone grasping at an old narrative in an attempt to clicks/views/likes to build a rep.
 
Or is this Irsay stirring up trouble, trying to get the value up on Taylor. Remember, this is the same guy who tried to claim tampering for a QB that retired 3 years earlier. I wouldn’t put it past him.

To me, what he was saying is that while the Commanders are likely the 3rd best team in the Division, they are going to be close to Philly and Dallas while there is a significant gap down to the Giants in 4th place.

He was really down on the Giants.

Basically read to me "The bigger gap is not between 2nd and 3rd (Dallas / Philly and Washington), it's between 3rd and 4th... Washington and NYG.

King is the consummate Giants homer. They are all down on the Giants right now. I didn’t hear him specifically, but it was frustrating listening to the various NY centric media on Tuesday. A lot of national media guys, even if they are not from NY, worked in that area and are fans of the Giants. Most I heard were giving Jones a pass for his awful performance on Monday saying it’s all on the o-line. I even heard one guy say there is a bad vibe on that sideline with him and the coach.

Contrast that with the heat Howell was getting after week 3. A lot of these same guys were saying “Howell showed he’s not an NFL QB; Howell is just a bad QB; This won’t go anywhere with Howell”, you get the point. The commentary on the Bills game for most of those guys was all about Howell. But for Jones, they say it mostly his O-line and coaches fault. The reality is, both guys were let down by their o-line. Both guys didn’t get good enough help from their coaches. And both guys played poorly. Of course one of them is paid like a top 10 QB and the other is on a 5th round rookie deal. We’ve also seen Jones do this before and Howell never had.

Some tidbits I liked.

"In the last two minutes of the half and regulation this season, he has thrown for a league-high 375 yards with three touchdowns to one interception. Washington has scored 34 points in those situations, including a tying touchdown on the final play of regulation Sunday."

I have certainly felt our 2 minute offense under Howell has vastly improved even prior to reading this.

Before the 2022 draft, one member of the organization said they would have targeted Howell in the second or third round had they not already traded for Carson Wentz that offseason. Duke said the family was told pre-draft to expect Sam to be selected anywhere between the 20th and 40th picks.

Then he lasted until the fifth round.

"There was never a doubt in my mind that Sam [could] produce or play at this level," Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy said. "I was shocked that he went as late as he did."

I've always been shocked at how far he fell.
 
I think that's one of the few things in the movie 'Draft Day' that rings true. Once a guy, especially a QB, past teams with a known need at the position, a feeling of 'there must be a reason these other teams are passing on the guy can set in. I really think that happens sometimes. The player suddenly becomes a perceived 'gamble', and GMs lose their jobs when they make big draft gambles and it doesn't work out.
