Random Commanders Thoughts

Chase is beginning to feel like a guy with all-world talent that has hidden a weak mentality. Now that he is in a league where everyone has amazing talent (even the guys who got cut last week), and more than a few have all-world talent, that mentality is what separates the Ryan Leafs from the Tom Bradys.

Sadly, he is looking more like the former every day.

With the coaching staff alluding to free lancing and not playing assignments in the defense when he is healthy....puts me more in the mind of Lavar Arrington than anything else.
 
Said it before the season, if we can avg 26-27 points per game, It's hard to see us not getting to 10 wins. But a 2 game avg really doesn't mean much.

 
Yeah, for the last 3 years, if I was predicting us to score over 24 it was always with the proviso that either the Defense or Special Teams (or both!) was going to have to score for us to get there.

Nice not to feel like that has to be the case anymore.
 
To add, we scored 35 without any fluke or game stopping plays. We had a few big plays, but I’d argue even then Robinson’s were doubles and not home runs. Even Terry’s wasn’t a home run since the play started in scoring territory.

So, we scored 35 without any freebies like the 65 yarder to Mims
 
Been playing with the idea of baseball terms. Here's what I've come up with:

Single: 1- 15 yards
Double: 16 - 29 yards
Triple: 30 - 39 yards
Home Run: 40+ (must be a scoring play)

It was really nice to see Robinson score some doubles against Denver. For the most part, he's been good at hitting singles and bunting, but he's never really broken anything off. If he is going to be our primary back, I want him to be more than a poor man's Eddie George. He needs more than to stagger forward for a consistent 2 or 4 yard gain. Again, in fairness, he is hamstrung by our line, too... but if people start worrying more about Howell burning them then more running lanes may open up.

It's not offense that has them winning... it's the running back? Pretty sure I know what the writer meant to say, but yeesh everyday we get a reminder why editors are important.
 
My random thought of the day was I wonder what our record would be today if Dan Snyder still owned the team.

It's kind of a bizarre question. I mean the coaches would have been the same. The players would have been the same. The opponents would have been the same. And yet, I can't help escaping this feeling that we'd be 0-2 right now. Arizona easily could have won. Denver was annihilating us in the first half and I think there's a better than 90% chance that a ref throws a flag for DPI on that final play if Snyder is still the owner... but I also think that Washington displays the glass jaw it so often did under Snyder and doesn't make that comeback.

It's irrational. There's no reason to believe that, but I think I really do.

I have only one hope for Sunday and that is that Sam Howell doesn’t get blown up. The Philadelphia DL is talented, dangerous, mean spirited and better than any of us believed Washington’s DL could be.

EB had better shift his philosophies and craft an appropriate & responsible plan. If not, Howell will be Ramsey’ed and Washington will be Dolphin’ed.
