I think that's generally true, but I have had drafts where I pretty much took their top-rated player and still received low grades. I think it's kind of random. They are now using ChatGPT to determine grades so it'll be interesting to look at their predicted order of finish and records at the end of the season and see how accurate it was? Here are the predictions:

Oof. I took 2 big gambles in this draft. The big one was grabbing Jonathan Taylor despite the trade demands and having no idea what Irsay would do. I thought Irsay might do the rational thing and trade him but I should’ve known better. Still could work out for me if he comes back after the first 4 weeks and lights it up. But not looking great. I also grabbed Logan Thomas as my backup TE so we’ll see if that was genius or stupidity at some point.

Taylor was definitely a gamble that at least for now, won’t pay off. Thomas though, that’s no real gamble. That was more a dart throw that if it doesn’t pay off, no big deal. Those rounds are pretty much for that purpose. Just see if you can get lucky with some random guy you think might produce. If he doesn’t, you go get the next guy.

My thinking was, yeah Thomas might continue to struggle with injuries… but there’s also the possibility he is TE1 on a pass-oriented team and has a career season.

The league starts today. Make sure you have your lineup ready with any Chiefs or Lions if you choose to use them. Also, I’ll give this piece of advice just this one time. Don’t use any Thursday players in your flex spot. It gives you more flexibility come Sunday to have that spot open for a RB/WR/TE.

Run off to the East Coast to go to the first home game and in one week get used to 1PM kick-offs again. This week I'm back in Dallas where kick-off is Noon and I totally forget to adjust my roster.

GAH! I picked Burrow as my starting QB for the season, and thus far he's been a minor disaster.
I also grabbed Howell as my back up, I was hedging bets on him being good. I wish I'd have started him this week as I'd have run away with it.
As it was, I won (Wahoo!) but mostly because I have the Washington D who scored bgi, and BROB who went off for me this week. I think he alone got me the win.
I'm not sure my season will be as good as last years though.

Eh, don't worry, I am being silly with paying attention to my roster right now, and was firmly convinced I had Nacua in. I thought I had a big flex play...and then found out I had fiddled with things I and didn't finalize

Don't think it would have mattered in the end, but I also explicitly didn't play Russell for voodoo reasons, and paid for it in fantasy

I did notice that you had Wilson on the bench. Honestly, I wouldn't have started him either but not for the voodoo. I didn't expect him to have a great game against us and, for you, Watson looked the stronger play going into the weekend.

Only reason was I had a feeling about him doing well @Denver. If it was @Was I never would have played him.

WR Williams LAC - week 3

No doubt there are others but these 3 stand out to me. All knee injuries too.

Tough week. Mahommes played a pretty awful game, and then pulls up instead of taking it into the endzone at the end. The INTs and those missed 6 points going to be the reason I go down this week.
