2023 Washington Roster Moves

Pretty sure he was released yesterday.

So are we going to go into the regular season with just 3 RBs (Antonio, Robinson, and Rodriguez)? Or are they looking to poach someone?
I won't be surprised if these 3 aren't it for the active roster. Samuel will take snaps from the backfield as well if EB uses him the same way previous OCs have.

I figure they will add a RB to the PS though. And Williams has been added to IR.

I shorted my original count, we were only down to 63

Jabril Cox was a guy we all liked in his draft

Just a feeling about that guy ... I don't think we've seen the last of him.

Anyone claimed or too early to know?

Teams have until noon today to make a claim. Once the waiver claim period ends teams can begin to sign players to their practice squads. This year, that means after noon on Wednesday.

To make a waiver claim teams need to have an available spot on their 53 man (person?) roster. They are given a grace period of 1 hour after making their claim to create space on their 53.

My guess is that Washington will end up moving Mathis to short-term IR and move Hodges to the practice squad enabling them to add a 10th offensive lineman (Tyler Larsen) and bring back FB Alex Armah.

It's funny. I think if you asked me what units we need to improve on I think it'd be the exact same list that I had in January. I don't know that we shored up any of our weaknesses except possibly QB.

LB and Oline still remain our biggest question marks.

In fairness, we tried to fix o-line though I think we tried to do it on Snyder's super cheap, outgoing budget. Linebackers, we did the absolute bare minimum.

Was it Snyder though? We paid Payne so they begs the question… was the checkbook really off limits?

Fair, except it sort of reminds me of the Wentz thing. The Commanders were given the go ahead for one big purchase and any purchase after that had to be in the clearance racks. The one big purchase allowed for plausible deniability that they were still spending/trying to make the team a winner.

They couldn’t have tried very hard.
