Snyder Approaches BOA on Prospective ‘Team Sale’

Place your bets, fellas.

I’m guessing Leonsis is out due to him potentially buying the nationals. That’s the only name I was surprised to not see. I heard the last valuation of the team was 5.6 billion so this sale will probably be north of 6 Billion if not way more.

Hmmm... New ownership, maybe a new name ? I know a pretty good one LOL :evil::evil:

Keeping me fingers cross we're having our last season under Danny boy

the momentum has to continue at this point

Eventually the masses can force the few to make decisions... straight up Game of Thrones style. The reaction this has created with EVERYONE running with it, is just further ammo for the rest of the owners to continue to take action. They HAVE to see how big of a deal this is.. that their business is better without him..

As far as Bezos, he's the most logical, easiest dot to connect. He's local with the Washington Post, he's got the money, and there have been reports previously of his interest in the team. A lot of reasons why he would be the easy answer.

SkinsOrlando, why would you be so anti-bezos. If it's Political, you can say it's political and I'll know what you mean, just curious if there were other reasons?

Can you all imagine a PRO-Washington football Washington Post? 😳

this is the BIG ONE here....

lol i've thought the same thing myself.

Thing is the Post has always been the periodical that was closest to the franchise. Almost every newspaper clipping marking historical franchise moments, has The Washington Post at the top. Prior to Snyder (and coincidentally the internet), the Post was where you went for Redskins news. The political landscape has changed, but how much of it was Anti-Washington football, and how much was Anti-Dan Snyder. Snyder has always had a rep for mistreating media that's not part of his own inner circle... 20 years of a newspaper being treated like trash would me me be less than excited to promote anything he had to offer

So, do ya think Ted Lerner is gonna make another run at the team if it comes to an outright sale ? I've seen his name tossed out there with Bezos.

he's gonna have a hell of a check coming his way pretty soon...

Regardless of who the potential new owner is, at the very least, priority #1 needs to be to reestablish a sense of pride, professionalism, and integrity within the walls of the organization from top to bottom.

From an ownership standpoint, anything short of that is unacceptable given the hell we have had to endure as fans of this organization for the past 20 plus years.

While Lerner did great for a time with the Nats I'd dread him being the Commanders' owner. For the past few years, the Nats have been a minor league farm team that every good team poaches from.

Poachers imply stealing. Nats havent traded a damn thing at a discounted cost, they've loaded the protected animals in the back of a truck and dropped them off out front of a sporting goods store.

I think the mentality would be different in the NFL because of the cap. Dollars of the cap not spent don't go toward the profit of the company, and there is a hard cap preventing excessive spending unlike the MLB.

That's not to say I'm rooting for the Lerners, but they largely are not a middling owner. They build the front office hierarchy, and let it do it's job. They also have built a consistent winner for the better part of 15 years, the last few have sucked, but now that we know they're selling.. the perspective completely changes... not defending it, just saying it changes.

Woke up to this news in a group text with my brother, dad and nephew! First time I've smiled about football in a few years. :)

Please God, make Snyder sell the ENTIRE organization! I don't want him involved in any percentage. And I can't imagine any succssful business owner going in partially with Snyder, that makes zero sense with the baggage Snyder has racked up over the years.

I would LOVE to know what is happening behind the scenes to instigate this move... Whether it's reorganization for minority ownership, etc? I don't see this playing out well for him if he just wants to play that game....

I read that the NFL owners have enough votes (24) to forcibly remove Snyder, but they would rather not do it that way. I think they may have told Dan to pack his things and get out on his own terms, or else they'll be forced to act. Just supposition on my part.

The U.S. attorney's office in the Eastern District of Virginia has opened a criminal investigation into allegations that the Commanders engaged in financial improprieties, sources confirmed to ESPN.
