Official Game Thread - Week 6 - Commanders @ Bears

That tweet seems to indicate an issue with his back.

Can't come outright and say "(sucks)" or "(being a dick). Just seems odd to me. He Didn't leave the game but was on the sidelines the entire time just hanging out.

Jackson said after he was pulled that he had disc issues going on. Rivera was asked about it and said that yes he'd been having some issues with his back but seemed to indicate there was more to him getting pulled than his back. His mistakes helped kill any chance we had against Dallas and I'm not sure what he did in the Titans game before getting pulled but clearly he was on a short leash.

Logan Thomas is out again, too. He sure is turning out to be quite the Jordan Reed.

Chase needs to get his ass back on the practice field at least. I haven't seen hide nor hair of him in pads.

I don't believe he can legally take the field while on the PUP list. Not with the team, anyway.

(not 100% sure about this though)

I thought he was ok after week 4....

I don't know, either. Just getting impatient. Big shock, I know!

They chose not to take him off the PUP at week 4 so we have to wait. I'm not convinced he's going to make a big difference (at least this season) but would love to be dead wrong about it.

I’m fine with him waiting until he is 100%. Especially with the way this season is going. They aren’t in contention and look far from it. Let him heal and get back to full strength. I do want to see him play this year. Not only because I want to know he’s healthy, but I’m also curious to see if he plays more like year 1 or year 2. I want to see him hungry and being a difference maker, not a guy trying to be the hero and running himself out of every play. But I’m good with him taking his time to get back.

This is year 3. We have the remainder of this year and then to decide on his 5th year option.

I'm sure they'll keep him, but I'd rather have someone we know is proven than...waiting for too long.

I think at this point they pick it up, unless they see his injury is really bad. Or they think he’s done. I don’t think picking up that option is a risk outside of the two scenarios I listed above.

It will be good to see him in the field though.

It's a big risk if he doesn't get back to 2020 form. He was pretty bad before he got hurt, and I am nowhere near convinced he get back to his original form.

Rightfully so. The injury he had is tough to come back from. Not certain he’ll ever be the same physically.

to Mike's point, getting back to where he was the season he got hurt is a low bar... It's not like he was completely dominant and we're expecting something just short of that.. he was not good. Multitude of reasons, and you hope he can not only get back to where he was in his rookie year, but in all honesty he needs to be better than that for us to invest. We've watched Smith Williams and Toohill emerge as talented members of the defense, so Chase is going to have to be what we hoped he would become to warrant any long term commitment. It's an impossible situation to have to make a decision on.

Right now, to me, he's clowney. He hasn't really lived up to the pick yet and I could see him bouncing around the league if he doesn't get resigned with us.

Young is the reason (along with RG3) why I cringe when folks advocate for tanking to get a top pick. Having a top pick is one thing. Making the right decision with a top pick is something else.

I don't blame them for the pick, i'll stand by it because i have to this point. I appear to have been wrong, and even so... don't blame them for the pick. It was easy.

That said, great teams don't do easy, they do best. I'm an overweight Monday Morning QB that watches about 3 hours of film a week on 1 team. They need to know better. It's the same pick 80% of the GMs in the NFL likely make.. 10% of the rest probably over think it and make a terrible choice... the other 10%......

Well - you have teams like the Patriots who seem to totally disregard conventional wisdom and draft guys where everyone says 'Who?'

You are right at the time, Young was a supposed 'best player in the draft' but he has not been an impact player consistently and he may never be at this point.

Boonestrodamus, you knew generational talent would get their legs wrecked? Slightly confused on that assessment of the draft picks, add double nickels Arrington to that list as well. We either have been cursed by a voodoo priestess Jack Kent Cook paid for in his escapades and unleashed her spirit once Snyder bought the team or, our FO just blows....D...for not ya know but Dandelions.
