Official Game Thread - Week 5 - Titans @ Commanders

Well that was a wholly pathetic, yet expected fail at the end.

If you don't fire Turner and Rivera this week you don't care about winning. This is the worst coached team since...gruden.

Why does the team employ runningbacks?

Turner doesn't use them.

And whatever happened to making Gibson this multi-faceted weapon ala Deebo Samuel? Guess they scrapped that too.

This is an expansion team fellas. New name, new uniforms...right down to playing like one.

Rivera just said post game that they are going to find their way out of this mess by practicing harder and playing better.

That to me is the sound of a coach who doesn't have even the slightest of answers at this point.

This could get ugly real fast.

When asked about offensive line struggles this season, Ron claims it is the result of five guys who haven't played together and guys shuffling in and out of the lineup due to injury/otherwise.

Excuses.

We could have been 1-4 with Kyle Allen as starter but not lose all the roster capital to get Wentz.

The competitive portion of the season is now over...and it's not even November...Snyder deserves every bit of it.

The fans get punished for being caught in the middle of it.

Honestly, this is the first loss I don’t feel angry about. The D played great. The offense struggled and was mostly held back by glaring mistakes by individual players. As Om said during last weeks pod, that is a reflection of coaching. So there’s that. But in terms of overall effort I felt like the players fought all day long. In the end the wasted challenge that cost us a timeout and prevented us from running at the goal line probably cost us the game.

I feel sorry for Carson Wentz who played his guts out today.

Scott Turner is awful.

When Wentz is under center and Brian Robinson is behind him,it's almost a guaranteed handoff.
If I know this from the couch, the Titans surely know it.

No balance in Turner's offense. He hates the run game. Doesn't value it,understand it or understand how to play off of it.

Feel sorry for any back employed by this team. Wasting their careers here.

Brian Robinson is a feel good story and may be a great back down the line. But no way he should’ve been getting a lot of balls today. Not sure what Turner is thinking.

I don't have an answer. I can't believe this team will ever be successful, REGARDLESS of the players on the team, with this playcalling. We convince McKissic to come back, when all we've given him is front row seats to Commanders games. We pay Terry McLaurin like a no. 1 WR, and treat him like he's a no. 3. Today was the first time we got to see Dyami Brown in his natural element, and we stopped doing it in the 2nd half. Wentz had 6 completions for 150 yards in the first half... On the first drive of the 2nd half he hit Terry McLaurin on a laser for 30 yards down field... the next drive we run interior power with Robinson. We have 1st and goal from the 2 and we call 3 pass plays, ALL from the shotgun (if i'm remembering correctly). No single back play action bootleg, no run play... we spread them out and told them we were passing...

Wentz will be credited for that interception, and yes he threw it... but he's playing the calls that come down from Turner. Mahomes is likely the only QB that is able to convert that sequence of playcalling into success, simply because he's houdini....

You make great points Derek.

Wentz very well may not be the answer, and I understand that.

Thing is, I have far less confidence in Turner than I do in Wentz... call me crazy.

But those play designs Derek! lol

The late, great Red Auerbach used to talk alot about having a feel for the game....Turner has none.

He's so focused on showing off Wentz's arm that everything else suffers.

I often wonder what these same players would look like with Andy Reid running it.........

Wentz arm was what was working! He even bailed on that!

To me, Turner doesn't try to shoot for any kind of balance.
IMO,you get some kind of balance so you can be unpredictable...unpredictable,the glaring weakness Turner has as a playcaller.
It's what Cooley mentioned on Sheehan's podcast after the Dallas loss: there's so much to get to in the pass game when you are so successful in the run game and Turner either didn't know how to get to it or refused to.

Turner's the elephant in the room right now.

I don’t think there’s anything crazy about that

That was the best game that Wentz has played this season and Washington still lost....at home....to a Titans team with a poor defense and no pass rush.

Not a good omen for the future. This team may not win 3 games.

Ron's timeout when the first replay showed the ball moving.

Turner throwing three times at the 2 just screamed Seattle in the super bowl.

They have to both be fired this week and that's it. This team has a lot of talent but no leaders. That is obvious to anyone looking at us.
