Excellent news! Now let's keep our fingers crossed that we can celebrate the man and his football achievements, as opposed to talking about porta potties afterwards.

This is a major "get it right" moment. There should be absolutely zero hiccups in the production.
 
Hopefully there are no porta potties around if they hold a celebration lol
 
Washington DE Chase Young was placed on Reserve/PUP, meaning he’s out for at least the first four games this season.
 
I made the joke to Derek that Chase saw #9 was retiring and thought it said 99 so he's taking the season off.

They’re probably using the old stock gear from years past for practices.
 
It seems no matter what name the team is, they very rarely retire numbers with the exception of players like Sean Taylor.
 
I don’t really understand the idea behind retiring numbers. Eventually you will run out of numbers available - it’s an inevitability. Why create that situation? A franchise Ring or Hall of Fame accomplishes the same thing.

Do we really want future fans rooting on #122?

I agree..


Though the easier ammendment is allowing 2 players (like College) to have the same number, as long as they play on opposite sides of the ball, and both can't be on the field at the same time for special teams.
 
I thought the Ring of Fame idea was a great solution/compromise to the number retirement issue. It's a way to say that we will always acknowledge and remember you without losing the number. Besides, retiring the number doesn't really help us think about the player or pay homage to them... it absents them from our sight.---- I don't hate the idea of retiring a number for someone who changed the game or did something unparalleled for your team, but I think a positive/additive homage (ring of fame, statue, etc.) is more effective than a negative one (removal of their number from the field.)
