In regards to the fashion department, we 1000 percent need some stripes on our pants and socks in the future. Thought so when I first saw the uniforms and continue to believe that it might be the biggest flaw among the many flaws with our uniforms.

That game was horrible to witness.

The uniforms looked horrible
Wentz was hot and cold which was horrible
Our defense got no pressure
Our safeties were eaten alive
We thought putting Holcomb on Kelce was a good idea

Del Rio needs to get his shit together or hit the road. That is the only option I see here

That game would have been 55-10 if it were regular season .. Mahomes was doing whatever he wanted , extending plays and playing with our DB’s… our offense continues to look like it struggles to run the most vanilla if plays
uniforms were real ugly

Don't really disagree with any of the comments. Couple things though... Mahomes makes a lot of defenses look inept. He just does. That doesn't change my concerns over our defense - but one can't totally discount it. It's kind of a big factor.

On being tired and giving up... here's the thing... at some point, we'll get to a Regular Season and the team will be good. They'll have turned a corner. It will happen. Eventually. At some point. And when it does, we'll still be freaking out over the preseason games that preceded it.

If we want to be anything more than 5-12 we need to be able to beat those teams. I'm not satisfied with just beating the lower tiers. Never will be.

We've been better than 5-12 seven seasons out of the last ten but 7-8 wins really isn't any more satisfying than 5 But I get your point. At the risk of enraging Chris, it's the preseason. It would be nice to see something that instills confidence and reflects progress during the preseason. But whether you are are going to be a great team or a bad one, the preseason usually isn't a very good indicator either way. Bottom line, the NFC East is up for grabs, our schedule is not nearly as brutal as it has been the past few years, we have a QB who, at a minimum, can play like an NFL starter most of the time. If we can't show major improvement this season, I'm not sure when we can expect it. Maybe with the next regime?

Bottom line, we are all fatigued. We've seen the movie 100 times.

Literally the only thing we can hope for is that we stumble into the right mix of talent and coaching to make some noise, start winning games against good teams again as Mike reference, and become relevant and consistent playoff contenders.

Short of that, we are all going to be angry and disappointed and snark will reign.

I agree. It would just be nice to put a competent offensive drive together or a good stop on 3rd down.

Judging by the general reaction to the KC game though, I just want to say that if we lose either of our first two regular season games, this fan base will literally implode.

We can't ask for two better cupcakes to start the season with Detroit and Jacksonville. Granted, they each probably think the same way about us, but if we have any hopes of being take seriously and establishing some positive momentum, nothing short of a 2-0 start should be acceptable or tolerated by anyone in that locker room.

I am personally going to spare my concern for the real games, but a loss in either of the first two weeks will likely leave me with little hope that the rest of the season will be any different than what we have seen in the past.

This foundation of this team's support fell through the ice year's ago. Probably around Shanny and then really cratered because of Bruce. Implosion would be a good thing. Too many have entered the realm of apathy.

Let’s go back back a little further .. for me in the Jim Zorn era the bingo caller turned play caller was a serious head scratcher

I know that was mostly snark - but YES - there definitely is still a fanbase, and I think it's still bigger than most believe. It's hard to give up fandom. The fact that a lot of folks have speaks to how bad the past 20 years has been.

I think there's a difference between the number of people who 'follow' or still associate themselves as 'Washington fans' and the number of people who go to games. The franchise is mostly a perennial loser, the stadium experience is not good, and it costs a fortune. But there are still a lot of fans.

If you asked me what has diminished the actual fanbase (because I do think it has taken a huge hit, especially over the past few years) I would say (in no particular order):

- Lack of on-the-field success
- Revolving door at head coach
- Inability to find marquee players at key positions, especially QB
- High profile departure of a number of key players under negative circumstances
- Failure of top 'franchise changing' draft picks
- The name change
- The clumsy management of rebranding
- The misogyny/sexual abuse scandal and other executive misconduct and poor behavior
- The NFLs failure to address and seeming protection of and collusion with Dan Snyder
- Incessant mockery and attacks (much of it deserved) on the team by local and national media

What am I missing?

Honestly, I think it's more the off field stuff that has hurt the fan base than the on field stuff. I look at teams like the Browns or the Cubs that have been bad for fifty year stretches and still kept their fan bases. With us, there's been something more insidious. There are reasons to be unhappy to be associated with the team. It's just become a hard team to root for. You have to close your eyes to so much and while I do it and all here do it I do think there's a drip torture effect. Each Dan Snyder controversy plinks on our foreheads driving us just a little bit madder. Sure, winning would fix a lot of it, probably most of it, but there's just a history of ugliness that weighs you down.

I think Wright and Rivera have done some stuff that makes the team more likable, but the baggage is so heavy.
