2022 Free Agency Tracker

He surely sees himself as being better than the likes of Mike Williams and Christian Kirk, who just got paid very handsomely. I am almost wondering if his camp waits for Devante Adams' situation to play out, so that they see where Terry fits in the pay pecking order (dollarwise), which surely has to be below Adams, but far above Kirk and Williams.

This teams record for second contracts pretty much helps anyone who believes the worst be right.

We have bumbled, jumbled, and fumbled almost all second contracts for players in the past 20 years except kerrigan and allen. Maybe a few others.

I can see why so many people think it's just another case of "the same ol Redskins front office" doing what they always do. I can't blame them for feeling that way.

I don't think Rivera will say much about it. Is he going to say "yeah, they really screwed the pooch on this one"? He is going to tow the company line like always and it will be a generic statement in my opinion.

I would just like to see these guys who deserve second contracts start getting them.

Am I the only one who is a bit unconfident with the McClaurin contract extension situation?

Nope, all Terry fans should be worried. Was looking for any info on his extension last night and found zilch. What did catch my eye was when RR was asked about his extension (pre-combine) he basically said “we’re going to assess stuff”. Like what in the actual hell is there to be assessed with Terry?

Only thing I’ll say is, we don’t KNOW how it happened with McKissic - we only know how it’s been characterized by other people who don’t know how it happened on Twitter :)

At face value it looks bad. My sense is they never made an offer and said ‘come back to us once you have an offer and we’ll talk’.

That may not be what happened that’s just how it’s being characterized on social media. A lot of players don’t just want to get paid, they want to feel valued and appreciated and if that’s the way it was approached it probably pissed McKissic off and I wouldn’t blame him for that. It would be a poor way to approach it for a valued player, and also a one given you are then competing not only in dollars but in terms of setting and quality of franchise, things we aren’t very competitive in.

You don’t encourage the lovely girl you are smitten with to go hang out with your better looking and more successful friend and then act bewildered when you never hear from her again, right?

Possible this was always about their assessment of his talent, how he fits with the offense they envision with Wentz, using those salary dollars elsewhere, or his health. I’m fine with any of those rationales. I just hope it doesn’t turn out we DID want to resign him but just bungled it.

I think what Rivera says about it when asked today, and maybe how he responds - ie if he gets defensive and angry that might be an indicator it’s a bungled mess.

Great analogy.

Read an article where all of Settle’s production came from less than 24% of total defensive snaps. Not sure if that’s on Sam Mills or JDR, but that’s a horribly underused ratio. Can’t blame Settle or any other players wanting out if that’s the standard.

Regarding McLaurin’s extension, I have no idea why it’s taking as long as it has. Can honestly see him leaving and wouldn’t be shocked at all if he’s traded before draft. He’s arguably the best WR this team has ever drafted & hope he stays, but this team likes to do so much inexplicable shit that he could bolt by request.

Ron shuffling his feet on this can possibly be the deal breaker.

I really think with Terry it’s likely his agent holding things up. The cost with free agency signings is clearly setting the pay scale at an advantageous level for him. It may benefit the team to do an early deal but not McLaurin.

Bottom line - he’s either inclined to come back or he isn’t and who knows where he is in his head?

Another surprise. Well, they are clearing cap space for someone, lol…

I'm going on record to say I'm not convinced that Wentz is a legit QB any longer. He's been broken, he's been on 3 teams in 3 years. I'm not sold. For the money we spent on him we could have kept JD, Settle, and worked on signing others who are coming up.

Now, we need DE, DT, MLB, and most likely RB again. We are not better than we were at the end of the season last year...we are poorer and looking at a bunch of people walking at the end of next season.
Just look at the 2020 season opener. That's the Wentz we're getting now. He makes hard plays look easy and completely easy and controllable plays look difficult. Sometimes not even difficult, just "WTF and why do that?". He's a play action or one-read QB.

John DiFlilippo was hardass on Wentz and Reich played the good cop. Wentz had everything. Stable system, coach with his back. His suffering is not because of the same reason the likes of Alex Smith failed

Snyder doesn't want to win anymore. He wants to hide in no man's land. 7-9 wins every year until he's a fat old Jewish Grandpa with a full beard. Totally worth the leg rubbing and pursuit for more with Tiffany Johnston.

Just gotta laugh

I don’t think it’s so much Snyder here, I think it’s our current front office that is causing the exodus. Having Snyder as an owner just adds to the reasons NOT to sign with the team.

With the JDM not even giving the team a chance to counter says a couple things to me. Either players see this structure and the foreseeable future and just say nope. Or our personnel staff is so inept they cannot relay to the players how much they’re valued to the future of the organization.

I know Flowers had a cap hit of 10 million but figured they'd restructure, maybe Flowers thinks he can get more elsewhere and wouldn't play ball. As far as Ionnaidis, head scratcher then again so far I think all moves by the Commanders are a bit head scratching. This has got to be related to some big extensions coming or it's just a total s*** show. I give it a 50/50 which way it goes.

30/70

That's ... a lot of players to lose.

I'm still waiting for the Plan. There's gotta be a Plan.

I think we’d all be wise to hold off on total freak out - there’s something major brewing. We might feel differently about some of these moves when the dust settles. As I whistle past the graveyard …
