Absolutely. Your brand means crap if you suck as a player. Just ask RG3.
But, booger is only about 50% right here. First off, he's racist for singling out once race he is speaking to. Any white person doing that is fired the next day. Second, a brand and trying to establish security for yourself is a very important part of being in the NFL. Your play is the most important, but things happen.
what happens if Tom Brady never recovered from his knee injury? He is now replaced and broke? Too many factors to weigh in to say that concentrating on your brand isn't smart.

at no point did I say they were exclusive. You dont have a brand without success on the field/court. What I am saying is I get why these kids come out trying to get a brand going.

I know I'm late, but you're right. Your brand almost becomes a natural thing if you get it done on the field. If you don't, you can have all the shirts, shoes and whatever... you'll get clowned.

I’m going to disagree. If it were a white former player/coach/admin type saying it about white players it wouldn’t be subjected to ridicule.
Build your brand all you like but put in the work at the same time. Otherwise that ‘brand’ is being built on quicksand.

You can disagree with whatever you want, that is why this country is so great. But, I disagree. Talk about promoting the white race and looking out for white people on television...we know what will happen.
I have said at least 10 times now that the work on the field is important. I never said it wasn't. I said that with the short lifespan players have in the NFL it is as important to set up for the future as it is to work hard on the field.

this is going to sound cynical, but he's constantly looking away from the camera, almost like he's being coached or something. I dont know, i admit a part of it may be my own judgement driven by my frustration in the whole matter so overblowing a minor personality quark on a video is probably over the top... but I agree, it felt scripted.

I would not be surprised in the slightest. His father is a part of the music industry(not the pop area, but it really doesn't matter), so they know a lot about working the public and controlling the narrative.
