Not surprising. DBZ was a mainstay on the Cartoon Network during the late 90s/early 2000s; the run ended on the channel in 2007.
32 years young here.

Though I am a casual, the show is surprisingly a very relatable to sports and athletics.

Goku being "top dog" and blessed with nautral talent and a freak work ethic.
Vegeta being that "second best" player
Krillin - that close friend who doesn't have much but a "team favorite".

Morgan is not going to be mean. Let's just be honest here. When you ask a man before the game what he thinks, I believe he is always going to back his teammate.

But, seeing 71 not help Haskins up when he was sacked told me more than this interview.

If he hadn't come back in and had been shelved for the season? Yeah, trade him in the offseason. Picks are assets. The more you have, the better.. especially when you get one for a player you have every intention of releasing anyway. A lot of things changed that forced Rivera to put Haskins back into the starting role and he ruined it...
 
Rivera didn’t trade Haskins at the deadline.

But to play Devil’s Advocate for a minute, if I am an NFL coach in the middle of a season am I more likely to give up compensation for a guy that likely won’t help me until 2021?

There was a clear difference between Haskins and players like Trent Williams that could come in and play right away.

That’s why Allen was a fool for not dealing Trent mid-season.

At the time I am not confident much was offered for Dwayne.

Those are valid points, but Gruden was a pushover as a coach. He wasn't trying to change the culture. He was just trying to call plays. It's why his players pushed him around. But the other constant in those situations was Allen. It was 2 on 1 in those types of situations. We always knew that Allen was just doing what Snyder wanted. But you have that extra person in there in Allen. Specifically a person who is there to be the mouthpiece of Snyder and someone that more persuasive and better at communicating what is wanted. Not that this means things will now be different, but any change in a positive direction is a good one.

I got you. Just seems odd that a guy whose failure in the NFL so far have almost universally been attributed to his lack of maturity to be referencing Dragon Ball Z characters on the way out. No insult intended. I love Ultraman and Jonny Quest - my generations DBZ.

I doubt there coudl have been a midseason trade because with the current covid climate, the QB isn't even in the room for 6 days, then takes the learning curve before they're competent with the playbook. That curve is likely bigger with Haskins.

The trade would have had to have happened during the offseason where a team knew they could get Haskins into the building, get him an offseason and preseason to take the flyer.

Moses has a big mouth. Pretty much any controversy that's occurred in DC since he's been there, he's the first one running off at the mouth to the media. He's a good player, but I wish he'd think a little more before opening his yap at times.

Truth.

A 7th round pick or 6th round pick can land a kicker, depth RB, depth linemen etc. A backup QB is not desirable during the season because that's been determined during the preseason cuts already. Add on all the questions about work ethic, and no team is wasting an asset for something that is basically a commodity and might perform worse than the average bad standard of a backup.

Well, folks are going to cite a hero or inspiration they know. That just happens to be Goku.
 
Haskins release today indicates to me that Smith’s chances of playing against the Eagles is actually good. Last week he was fine until Sat when he experienced tightness in the calf after a week of work.

My guess is Heinicke will be the #2.

Wasn't it more like 'a day' of work (pretty sure he was rested most of the week)? I think the most likely outcome is Smith starts and lasts less than a quarter. I'd prefer they give Heinicke the start. He's clearly going to be a better option than an Alex Smith who can't push off his plant leg. I see no evidence a few days is going to heal Smith's calf that was so clearly making it impossible for him to throw with velocity.

That REALLY stuck out to me, too.
 
it needs to remain that way....not an overly huge Joey T fan, but he did more than enough to warrant it being more special than just giving it up to an unproven QB.
