SC: What is really going on with Haynesworth?

its obvious that he wont catch a break with you.

favre should have worked on his ankle
welker on his knee..
etc
etc

Not one bit. For 21 million, I would have expected him to come into training camp and blow it away. Instead we get this.

**** him

He gets off the couch, runs that test and can go sit back down. he wasnt training during the off season to lose weight and try to get back in to football shape. his big butt was sitting behind a mic sucking it up.

The point you make here kind of makes it look worse for Albert to be honest. Some fat ass, out of shape, good for nothing retired player as you make him out to be who wasn't trying to get into shape passes a reasonable facsimile of the test Albert cant pass, because he was getting into "football" shape? I think the biggest cause of stress to his knee was being too heavy for a long time, not working out in the off season.

You don't have to work out to drop 30 pounds. Put the fat bastage in one of those body wraps that fat old women use to drop weight fast a few times over the course of two months. He could easily drop the weight, and still be in the same crappy condition he was in last season.

I've had cartilage problems in my right knee for a long time. Pretty much constant nagging pain and swelling. I shed 20 lbs since April, and it's like a new knee.

Just sayin....

so you would have been happier had there been structural damage?

Nope. I'd be happy if he wasn't being a petulant child.

But this is cool. Shanny, in getting this MRI done, in essensce just hung a sign on Butterworth's back that says "*****".

We'll see how he responds

he will soon enough. AH's act got old. but they need him on the D. they're gonna work him in....they've already started

Granted, if he's healthy we can be better with him, but need him ? I'm not too sure about that. Shanny has planned to play without him from the looks of it for some time now.

Yep, probably sat in a sweat box for the last few months. 20 pounds was probably water weight and twinkies

Really wish Albert had the same heart and desire that Colt brings to the game of football.

ive had a friend take a step on the basketball court, just a normal step and his achilles roll up like a set of blinds that go crazy.

and i still wont believe golic did it until i see proof.

Oh, and by the way, Haynesworth's MRI was negative.

With Albert Haynesworth not being able to take the required conditioning test due to sore knees, it’s no surprise that the team ordered an MRI today. The good news is that the MRI showed that there was nothing structurally wrong with the knee, according to the Washington Post.

Wouldn't that be awesome? He'd be a rock star in this town, and I'd be right there cheering him on

Instead we get the Fat Albert drama show

we haven't seen the d-line in action yet. but it's a cobbled mesh of aging players, injured payers and other teams failures. it's open to question how well that d-line will do come Dec....and IMO...it's probably one injury away from being totally average. Haynesworth is a royal pain, but the team has already committed 21 mil, he has been an all pro and he is definitely better than the other mediocrities on that line. they need to work him into the mix while getting him to shut his trap and perform to a high level. they weren't able to trade him - he's here for the year unless someone decides to just cut his arse. cutting him may make folks feel good, but it's incredibly stupid after 21 mil has been sunk into the guy. Shanahan is making his point and glacially putting the moves in place to slide AH into regualr team practices.

I generally agree. My concern is how many plays we want him in for, and how many he'll actually be available for. The guy has been a monster on the field, just not for us as of yet. I want that monster, and I want him for every down he's intended to play. If he makes one play, and is gassed for two more, somebody is filling that spot. Point is, Shanny, no matter how inferior to Albert the player is in talent, has plans to play the game with others filling that spot. He'd be the dumbest SOB in the land if he didn't.

As the old adage goes..... availability is everything.

Sarge I'm shocked at you and the others hating on AH like this. After all, the old adage that the NFL is a business applies here. I mean Fat Al has gotta think of his future. It's not like he's a highly touted FA player brought in with a fat signing bonus or something. ...oh, wait. Well, 21+ mill doesn't go nearly as far these days as it used to. So give the guy a break for Pete's sake!!

I kid, but at this point it's really starting to look like Fat Al only showed up to avoid the risk of losing part of the second SB (i.e. the $21 mill). He shows up, says he likes his role now and feigns injury to avoid practicing. He's kept his part of the bargain, the team can't say he's not honoring his contractual obligations and he still doesn't have to practice or play for the team he clearly doesn't want to be with anymore. Fat tubba crap!!

According to PFT
Albert Haynesworth to retake conditioning test Saturday
Posted by Evan Silva on August 6, 2010 9:15 PM ET
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the "plan is" for Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth to retake his conditioning test on Saturday. Schefter has few other details, and it's unclear which side he's getting his information from: the team or Haynesworth.

If it's the Redskins leaking information to Schefter, and Haynesworth hasn't deemed his troublesome knee healthy enough yet to complete the test, it could be another power play by Mike Shanahan. Schefter, of course, wrote a book on Shanahan in 1997. So it's certainly not a poor bet that Schefter's report is coming from someone close to the coach, if not the coach himself.

On the other hand, Haynesworth and/or his agents could be using Schefter to get out the news that the $100 million nose tackle $48.2 million right defensive end's knee has healed sufficiently, and Haynesworth is ready to practice. Haynesworth was observed "flying on a treadmill" Thursday.

Or perhaps Haynesworth is just getting bored. The extent of his participation in Friday's practice? Recovering fumbles in a turnover drill.

Let's hope this is the case and he passes the thing so we can all quit dragging knuckles over it. :)
