Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions, 2020

A TE with a two season injury history? Huh. I’ve seen this movie before.

At least they weren’t concussion related.

What is it about Tight Ends, that leads to so much trouble, either medical, or crime-related ?
Asking this, while getting updates from the Kellen Winslow Jr rape trial, and after watching the Aaron Hernandez doc.

OL depth signing... Redskins sign 1 year deal with Jeremy Vujnovich.

6’5” 295 lbs. 29 years old
Started every game of 2017 season as Colts LG

Yeah, what's the roster size right now BB. Is it 90 yet?

We're an eternity between todays roster, and the final one. As long as they're all high motor guys, they help feed the culture before they go.

Latimer info
6'3" 216 lbs 27 years old
2nd Rd pick in the 2014 draft (Broncos)
Member of SB winning Broncos team
Best season 2017 - 11 games played, 31 receptions for 287 yds and 2 TDs.

I believe I'm correct that only 1 player we've signed during Free Agency has been over the age of 30. I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but it's a notable difference from previous regimes.

Latimer did have Peyton Manning as his QB early on, but PM was near the end and that team won because of defense. From there, he has been with horrible quarterback situations. He has a lot of potential. This is a very good signing.

That's good to hear. I mean - guy was a 2nd rounder - he has to have some native ability.

The ability is there, especially on deep routes. Pretty sure this takes the Skins out of the WR draft market and deeper into the TE draft market.

I can't read the article as it's a pay site. But I disagree with the premise he starts with (if I'm reading the direction of the article correctly). Sounds like he's advocating for the Redskins to 'take what they can get' now that it's gotten even uglier. I'm a vindictive SOB and there's no way they should settle for anything less than a 2nd rounder or a 3rd/4th combo. Screw Williams. He can either suit up and shut up, or lower his salary demands. Wildcard would be a player for player swap, but I am adamantly opposed to giving Williams away for a 4th or 5th just to 'move on'. We don't have to move on - the SOB is under contract.

I have no idea what will ultimately happen, but both sides need to ease their demands just a bit. I've said for a long time that a third rounder is about the only way it gets done. We'll see. And I meant to put this in the current TW thread.

I guess it depends on what the sticking point is in reality? I have to believe it's Williams ridiculously delusional salary expectations that are the major barrier. I would ordinarily be convinced that he absolutely should and would garner a 2nd rounder. But on the other hand, all of this drama and his passive aggressive management of the whole situation may have driven down his own value to the point where it's not going to happen. I still go back to the reality - he's contractually obligated and the message I'd send publicly is that we're going to play hardball. He finds a fair deal out there or he'll be expected suit up or pay through the nose. There is no reason the Redskins should accept some discount trade. We'd be better off with him on the field if that's the situation.

I agree with you. We'll see what happens. Truth be told, I'm not tired of this drama like other Redskins fans. I love watching the story unfold, but I do think this will not drag on beyond the draft.
