Players need to stop depending upon the team for non-football related injuries, illnesses, etc. The average general practitioner/sports med aide is not going to be knowledgeable about something like this that a dermatologist should review and examine the patient.
Trent should have taken the initial advice to seek a second opinion seriously as this was a non-sports issue.
That said, the WP article that was just posted shows the Redskins have learned nothing from the Kirk Cousins fiasco - they are evidently planning on waiting Trent out with fines against the last year his contract is officially guaranteed to force him to report.
Bruce Allen and the Redskins need to take their own advice that this is a 'business' seriously and not personalize the situation to the point where Trent Williams becomes and stays the #1 distraction leading up to the start of the season.
Accommodate Williams' trade request and let's move on.
Belichick let's guys go when they aren't happy in NE over money or issues with the coaches.
We stupidly keep players that don't want to be here and then wonder why they are not motivated to perform at a high level.

If true this is 100% on Trent. Unless the dr he was speaking to was an oncologist or a dermatologist, or whatever type of dr specializing in said expertise, then he may have a point. At very minimum the team could say TW or any player can/should seek proper 2nd opinions to get this holdout over with.
I'm to where we should lock Brandon up with an extension and make the situation black and white to TW. Show up but use a different medical staff henceforth, or your agent finds us a helluva deal and peace out.

Hmmm. After we hear it mostly is about the medical team and not the money, this came out today:

The person said Williams then asked for more money, which the team also declined, and the two sides have remained in a standoff since."
So magically, his beef w/ the med team, and wanted to be traded disappear with more cash. At least other holdouts across the league like Zeke and Thomas made it known their holdout is due to money from the jump.

Yeah, Boone said it, and obviously more than one of us has been thinking the same thing...……

I would let Pothead Crybaby accrue as many fines as possible. And, make him pay it. If he does ever show up before the season starts, it would be under his existing contract. He goes straight to inactive 3rd string emergency swing tackle.
With a big "For Sale" sign floating throughout the NFL. Take the best deal. Even if they have to wait until the trade deadline.
I'm a vengeful, vindictive SOB. Unless he decides to come back, under his current deal, and gives 100% to the TEAM, **** him eternally. I'd hurt him every way I legally could. Financially, as well as professionally.

Occasional bad luck investing like Brunell & AP aside, these players are the absolute worst money managers in the history of history. It's damn difficult to muster up an ounce of sympathy for individuals making over $10M a year, then complaining it's not enough. To hell with the patriots, I hope Bruce sends his ass to Cleveland, Houston or the Jets.
Going by the recent OL additions it would appear TW's days as a skin are history. Christian's progress will determine if the 2020 #1 pick is a LT or not, and I'm okay with it all at this point.

If you were able to sit in his shoes, how would you feel about being given the wrong advice and then asked to resume life/do your job? It's a fair question.

Tomorrow will bring a free agency update. Players have the day off on Friday. Saturday is fan appreciation day at camp and we will have updates from practice.
