On the playing side Trent is being totally unrealistic.
He was made the highest paid OT when he signed his current deal. THAT was the reward for being a loyal and effective player for the team. Managed effectively that money sets him up for life.
His thoughts about playing to age 37 like Jason Peters and not having the team develop any legitimate younger talent at his position are things he can't control and in the latter case things the organization should have done much earlier given the injury history of both tackles.
Trent needs to own up to the fact he was suspended twice by the NFL and missed games he should not have otherwise missed. The team captain in those moments let the team down. The Redskins supported him publicly through all of that which is conveniently ignored now in the recounting of grievances.
In regards to the medical issues, the team should have sent him to a specialist.
But where does the line get drawn for non-football injuries/illnesses?
In the various sports I now see players complaining teams didn't help them with their drug issues or move to help them with domestic abuse/anger management issues/allegations and follow up treatments, etc.
Teams are businesses not parents.
I admit it is alarming how much adult players depend upon teams to organize and manage their lives.
