Our 2018 starting QB will be....

I certainly think describing wanting physical 'football' guys by McCloughan, while not complete, was a much more articulated vision than we've gotten from anyone else. But I also don't follow other teams closely enough to know what 'vision' they are setting.

Guys like Matt Jones, Sua Cravens - those were the result of that ‘vision' too. Just sayin'

I'm so tired of the Cousins drama, warming to the idea of giving Colt a few years and using picks to build around him.

Absolutely. Am I wrong that outside of media types that the sports world seems to have gotten a pass with the sexual harassment feeding frenzy?

I wouldn't say that around Jerry Richardson.

I've heard Philly likes this Sudfield character. Maybe we can get him to develop. Lol

Oh, yeah, I know. Of course, not all picks are perfect, but sharing statements as he did does help 'paint a picture' which helps drive a culture among everyone in the organization. Maybe the Front office and Jay are doing that and it's just hard to know.

Haslett always talked about having an aggressive, ball-hawking defense. That never materialized, but it did set an idea in your mind. Of course, being able to product on that vision is another step which Haslett obviously never did.

Truth.

I would point out though that even the best mess up and do it often. Beathard drafted Darrell Green in the 1st round in 83 and then drafted Bob Slater in the 1st round in 84.

It's an educated guess at best most of the time.

I want the Cousins stuff done this year. Either he's signed long term or gone. I don't want any kind of tag.

Sometimes I wonder how Rodgers would have turned out if he hadn't been behind Brett Favre and had to start early on.

I still think that is who Gibbs II wanted, not thinking the Packers would take hime with no real need at QB.

Elway was Hawking, Einstein and John Nash all rolled in to one... when Denver won the Super Bowl... then he turned into Forest Gump seemingly overnight, although even he would have probably lucked into a QB in some way.

I think most in Denver understand they sold the future for now in Denver. Whether he can rebuild from here is the question. Had I been Denver, I would have let Von Miller walk, they couldn't afford him and it will likely play into their future success.

Serious question for you or anyone else? What drama? Has something happened the last few days? Most of what I have heard is the same old blah, blah, blah. And I'm happy with that. I've heard a few people say Cousins drama, but is there really any other than the uncertainty? Maybe I'm missing it.

From my perspective, it's not anything in the past few days, I'm just tired of the one year deals which leads to season long speculation by the media.

Yeah, I get that. I'm the same way. The uncertainty is really the only thing. When I think of drama, I think of all the crap that went on back in 2013 and to an extent 2014. This is just a lot of nothing which can be frustrating, but nothing like we have seen even in recent memory.

I do not believe the Redskins Front Office has any vision or plan. I believe that as currently constructed, they're incompetent.

Jay Gruden,IMO, has made the best of a dysfunctional situation. I believe if he had an actual solid football man as GM, he could do alot better.

I don't like being here, in this state of mind. I look at Dan Snyder, who on multiple occasions, has told guys he's hired (Shanny,McCloughan)
"I'm embarrassed. Please fix this.", and I've wondered....you have access to 31 other owners and executives...Joe Gibbs,Bobby Beathrad, Charley Casserley.....and you cannot glean enough knowledge from a group like that to make an informed decision to change your structure and get this thing on track??

The other thing .... fans say he's more interested in making money...well, doesn't winning football games and playoff appearances make you more money? Does he understand that? Do we know if he understands that?

To me, you've been in this business 20 years. How have you not figured out how to right the wrongs?

Kick Bruce Allen upstairs, away from football decisions..or hell, let him go. Bring in somebody outside the organization that has a solid background in personnel.

Just give me something to hold on to. Just a little light to say, hey, we're trying.

Not sure if any of you listen to the "Burgundy & Gold Hour" podcast with Rick Snider and Matt Cones, but in the last one Rick had some pretty strong things to say about Bruce Allen.

Doesn't like the man, avoids him where he can. He did say that he thinks, from rumblings he hears from inside the park, that Bruce's days are numbered. At least on the football side. Rick was very much of the opinion that Bruce is still around because of his political contacts and his ability to schmooze with the politicians in Virginia etc to get the new stadium deal done, because Snyder is awful at those things and leaves them to Bruce. But he thinks the leash for Bruce on the football side is very short at the moment.

Here's hoping. :D

I feel like the Skins have been directionless on the Front Office end for a while now. When Scott was brought in, whether we like his draft choices or not, he at least seemed to have a philosophy that was consistent and I feel if it had played out over a number of years (longer than he had) might have paid dividends. But now we're back to the same old grey area of having no clue again.

Boone mentioned that to be a perennial winner in the NFL a lot of things have to be right, and I think that's true. That's why I've been one of those preaching stability and the chance to put all the ducks in a row before making wholesale changes again.

It's like being dealt a poker hand that is Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 5. And instead of trying to turn that 5 into a 10 sometimes the team just throws in the whole hand and draws a new hand.

Maybe it's just the eternal optimist in me, but I feel like our record masks the fact that there's a lot of good cards in our hand at the moment. We just need to draw a couple more and then we might really have something.

I like Cousins I really do, but this is EXACTLY where I am currently too.

Thank God NO! It keeps me happy most of the time. This is the closest I am to being on social media.
