The Reyes signing I put on Barry. Barry was Reyes' DC in San Diego and would not have been brought in here without his vouching for him.

That said, the DL was a big hole and Scot did not make any real improvements here.

One #5 pick is not an adequate investment.

If we were not going to draft DL we needed to make at least one solid move via trade or free agency.

That didn't happen.

There's violence in a school incident and then several years later the NFL is still trying to fine players for making believe they are shooting a bow and arrow or drawing a pistol like a Western gunfighter after a sack? Give me a break.

How about the NFL spends some of the money they have been printing on programs to reduce violence in local communities and establish scholarships and investments to help kids graduate from high school.................

The lack of opportunity is the real issue, NOT the irrational response from the NFL that a player gesturing after a touchdown or interception is somehow influencing violence (??)............................

And great fine to Antonio Brown for 'animating a sexual pose'.......................

In the same frame of film as Brown celebrating his touchdown is a nice shot of a line of cheerleaders high kicking in unison, showing off their under-tongs to all those 8 year old boys out there watching on home TV......................

The #Redskins are signing Pro Bowl safety Donte Whitner to a 1-year deal, source said. He worked out for the rival #Giants last week…

Whitner, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2006. After five years with the Bills, Whitner signed on with the 49ers and later joined the Browns in 2014.

He was in the third year of his four-year, $28 million contract when he was cut loose by the Browns back in April.

In 2015, Whitner appeared in 14 games and recorded 81 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, no interceptions and four pass defenses for the Browns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 24 safety out of 89 qualifying players.

Our safeties have been terrible, it's nice to see these moves as validation of what we have been seeing on the field.

I'd love to see some creativity applied to the DLine as well, but this is an encouraging start for sure.

With D Hall out, and now Bruton to IR with a concussion, Scot had to do something.

Duke needs to stay healthy--that would be a start.

Next draft needs to be D-heavy. Both on the line and two more safeties. Maybe even three, depending on Duke's health.

Derwin James could be the answer, but he can't come out until the following year.

The irony would be that Whitner and Evans together become a solid duo for 2016, surpassing what Bruton and the others would have done.

Cooley said that Bruton looked lost on the field in coverage, he didn't really have the chops to be a starting safety in the NFL.

The Redskins promised to give him a shot at starting when they signed him, I think a full camp, preseason and 4 regular season games qualifies.

I don't expect Bruton back next season.

He would have been waived if he was not in the concussion protocol.

The Redskins had no choice with Bruton.

Because he was injured and in the NFL's concussion protocol the Redskins could not simply waive him at this point without a negotiated injury settlement and the team needed to clear roster space.

My wager is that Bruton has played his last game for the Redskins and will be waived off the injured reserve list in the offseason.

I forgot that Kevin Bowen was on IR from the earliest part of the offseason - he's a 6'9 and 335 tackle with some down the road potential.

We may be having problems finding defensive linemen and safeties that are worth a damn, but Scot definitely knows how to stack up big bodies on the offensive line.

With Mike and Kyle here we had light guys that went 290-305. Trent Williams was our only big body at 320.

Now we have Nsekhe at 6'8 and 330, Moses at 6'6 and 320, Long at 6'5 and 324, Kouandjio at 6'4 and 310, etc.

I don't understand how the bow and arrow thing is a violent act. Maybe 150 years ago in defense of sacred homelands and lands that were live in and harvested by natives, but now??? Even then it was in defense of a nation of people, not a murderous act.

Nice to see that we have rebuilt the safety positions in a single day. Early next week will be devoted to the DL and it should be rebuilt within a day or two.

In the Cleveland game, I truly believe it was a fumble. Redskins players were quick to react, point in their direction, and celebrate. Browns players/coaches had the best angle - they knew what happened. Case closed. It had nothing to do with the Amazon Line Judge.

I like the oline that started the last game. It should be that way from now on.

My suggestion had nothing to do with the mention of Clinton. I do think that if you want to complain that a woman is incompetant and is getting special treatment simply because she's a woman, thats a PA topic. But I suppose that in this case it is NFL related, so if you insist on banging that drum here, so be it.
