The Ravens defense is not what it has been.

Their game yesterday showed that the secondary is poor. They made Michael Crabtree look like he was a Hall of Famer.

The Redskins though have a horrible run defense and if Baltimore is smart they will keep the ball on the ground and wear this unit down so that they can control the clock.

It's a road game, but only 40 miles away.

3 points is a typical spread for a home team.

Both teams are in that middle tier of clubs that competes and has some but not enough play-makers.

Should be a close game.

I think with our defense we have the ability to lose, and lose big, to just about anyone. If we can keep up with Baltimore we might be able to pull out an upset. But 3.5 point dogs sounds about right.

Well, as I told a friend, I am of course glad we won the game.

But Cleveland is really the worst team in the NFL roster-wise by a wide margin.

One key sign?

The Redskins released Austin Reiter and Stephen Paea as neither player had solidified a role with us, yet BOTH players were picked up by Cleveland and BOTH were starting yesterday against Washington.

There were WAY too many close calls in that game.

With a rookie quarterback under center, the Redskins needed to blitz Kessler and put up more than 1 sack in 4 quarters.

So, Josh Norman would have literally gotten ejected from the game, if he did the Bow & Arrow a 2nd time.

I don't care how much McD5 sells Gruden on us, Zimmer is a far better coach. You can see it in the discipline of his players. He built the team through the trenches and they are a solid contender for the NFC Championship at this point in the season.

I've always thought we picked the wrong Cincy coordinator.

The knock on Zimmer for years was that he wasn't PC...didn't care for FO politics and told it like it is....and was passed over because of it.

As far as their defense goes, they have invested alot in theirs draft wise and FA wise where we haven't....and it painfully shows every Sunday.

You can say whatever you want, Zimmer has done a far better job with the Vikings than Gruden has with us with the same amount of time to do so. They are on track to be in the NFC Championship...we will be lucky if we win the division, even if I think we still can. And it goes beyond simply wins v losses...few penalties, few blunders with clock management, the team is simply far more disciplined than we are.

You can call that offense garbage all you want, but they do more than enough to win.

They are far better coached than we are. And if you can't see that, you not looking.

You're way off base. We are the 5th most penalized team in the NFL and the Vikings are the 4th least penalized team in the NFL. That's all you need to know about the coaches. It's called discipline, Zimmer wins by having a well disciplined team, we are mediocre because we are not. That's on Gruden.

I was thinking the same thing, but the argument to this is that, "You have to let them have fun."

Have you guys seen the female referees terrible call on the Duke Johnson fumble? You can clearly see Johnson holds the ball in the air, but the female referee rules the Redskins recovered it. The NFL "Finds no fault" in the play? WTF? That ref threw too many flags, she was horrible.

Interesting, wonder if he stays up there for the season.

This is always the sign of a well coached team. Well coached teams play disciplined football. That discipline can often make up for shortcomings in talent. I have been very impressed with the Vikings since Zimmer took over. And when you dominate on defense, it will carry your offense.

All that being said, no matter what Zimmer does, that doesn't have any bearing on what happens here except for week 10. Gruden needs to do a better job to get the team to play disciplined in all areas. Less penalties. Blocking assignments. The QB making smart decisions. Being in the position you are supposed to be in on defense. Tackling. All those things relate to discipline and are areas where the team struggled yesterday despite the win.

At the 10 sec mark all I see is a pile starting on the back. However, near the end with the low down angle, it at least appears no Redskin was rally controlling the ball. BOth of the ones on the ground sort of appeared to be reaching behind themselves.
