If I had to handicap it, I'd say another two years tops (including the four games he'll be sitting on his arse during 2016 not wearing down his noodle). Assuming Billy B doesn't ride off into the sunset with Tommy--which I personally believe he should/will--we'll start to get a better sense of just how much of The Genius' genius was actually genius.

Somehow, that made sense. You used "genius" three times. That doesn't make it a double negative. I think.

Today we bring you the latest mock and it features trades and other exciting information. The draft is just over twenty-four hours away and we will bring you two mocks tomorrow (morning and afternoon).

Round One: Trade
The Redskins trade down to the latter portion of round one and gain third, fourth, and seventh rounders.

Round One: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
The Redskins need youth and dependability on the defensive line for 2016 and beyond. Enter Andrew Billings. The Redskins have a decent running game defense. Billings can make it much better. The Redskins have a poor pass rush. Billings can make it much better. The Big 12 star plays low to the ground and can gain exceptional leverage. A disruptive force who can take on double teams and allow the OLBs a direct path to the quarterback. Deceptive speed. Very, very strong.

He has steadily improved on his coverage skills and should only get better. A true playmaker. Can suddenly change the direction of a game with his ball hawking skills.

Has a very aggressive and relentlessness attitude on the gridiron. A football player in the mold of what the Redskins GM prefers.

Solid runner between the tackles and would be better in a power running scheme. Can handle a workload, but needs a few games to adjust to the NFL.

Will need to adjust to a pro style offense. Has a laser like focus on the ball and makes many difficult catches. Has drawn comparisons to notable big wide receivers, mostly Randy Moss.

Bronson Kaufusi, DE, BYU
The motor that never quits. Kaufusi comes from the independent program of BYU and has shined against quality P5 competition. Seems to play his best in bowl games and key rivalries. A true pass rushing 3-4 DE. Good speed off the edges. Zeroes in quickly against quarterbacks and running backs on sweeps. Long, lanky frame allows him to swat down many passes. Would do extremely well on special teams as he has an ability to block kicks and punts. Hard worker. Great attitude. Needs to add about five to ten pounds of bulk.

Round Five: Graham Glasgow, C/G, Michigan
Glasgow is an intriguing prospect who can play either left guard or center with superb effectiveness. He would likely be a fourth rounder (possibly higher?) if it wasn’t for a DUI conviction and a team suspension for similar behavior. In the past year, the Big Ten mauler has become a model citizen and had a great year on the gridiron. He more than held his own at the Senior Bowl as he handled elite defenders who will do well at the next level. Likely projects to center.

He has an array of acrobatic catches in his arsenal and makes the impossible receptions when you least expect it. Superior size with a superior skillset – exactly what the Redskins are searching for in a new wide receiver. Runs precise routes. Shakes coverage on short, intermediate, and long range passes with a can do attitude. Played in a pro-style system for the MAC’s Minutemen and transitioning to the NFL could be seamless. Needs to work on his YAC.

Round Five: DeAndre Houston-Carson, FS, William & Mary
Latter round free safeties need to have plenty of speed. Carson has it. Latter round free safeties need to have a nose for the ball. Carson has it. Latter round free safeties need to have an elusive ability to deal with blockers. Carson has it. Latter round free safeties need to have great tackling skills, cornerback like skills, incredible focus, football smarts, and special teams skills. Carson possesses these qualities and more. Could the CAA defensive player of the year start sometime during his first season? It’s possible.

Round Six: Cody Kessler, QB, Southern California
The Redskins will certainly take a quarterback in this draft as a developmental project and the all PAC-12 signal caller obviously fits that profile. He sees the field very well and goes through his progressions quickly and efficiently. Able to improvise with ease. Leads the west coast offense with short and intermediate passes with an amazing degree of accuracy. Could stand to improve on his longer pass accuracy. Would fit extremely well in the Redskins offense.

Butkus, Lambert, Singletary, Urlacher, Bednarik, Lewis, Nitschke. Expect Ragland to join that elite list of inside linebackers in the future. He’s that good. Great instincts. Running backs do not get by him. Can blitz on occasion and play well inside the box. Recently lost about twelve pounds (down to 245) and is faster. Stronger too. Needs to improve just a bit on his coverage skills. Brings the pain on every play.

Ridgeway will likely add about ten to fifteen pounds of bulk to his sturdy frame. For his size, the Longhorn is deceptively quick on his feet. Pretty much an unmovable object on the field.

Today we bring you the latest mock and it features trades and other exciting information. The draft is just hours away. This is the second of three mocks today. Another one is coming later this afternoon. We hope to see you in chat tonight.

Without any further delays, let’s take a look at the latest mock for 2016.

Round One: Trade
The Redskins trade down to the middle portion of round two and receive two second rounders plus a seventh round choice.

Round Two: Vernon Butler, DT/DE, Louisiana Tech
Simply put, he is strong and able to do the following: bull rush, hold the offensive lineman from making plays, sack the quarterback, generate a consistent pass rush, and contain running backs – often for a loss. The CUSA product’s motor is constantly running and does not stop. A high character person and his focus is always in the right place.

He has steadily improved on his coverage skills and should only get better. A true playmaker. Can suddenly change the direction of a game with his ball hawking skills.

The first team PAC12 linebacker is a major force on the football field. He is technically listed as an OLB, but figures to slide inside at the next level. Could start immediately. A needed and desired player for the Redskins at that position. The former safety can drop back in coverage, be highly effective in the rush defense, and provide a huge burst on the occasional blitz. Has a very aggressive and relentlessness attitude on the gridiron. A football player in the mold of what the Redskins GM prefers.

Will need to adjust to a pro style offense. Has a laser like focus on the ball and makes many difficult catches. Has drawn comparisons to notable big wide receivers, mostly Randy Moss.

Bronson Kaufusi, DE, BYU
The motor that never quits. Kaufusi comes from the independent program of BYU and has shined against quality P5 competition. Seems to play his best in bowl games and key rivalries. A true pass rushing 3-4 DE. Good speed off the edges. Zeroes in quickly against quarterbacks and running backs on sweeps. Long, lanky frame allows him to swat down many passes. Would do extremely well on special teams as he has an ability to block kicks and punts. Hard worker. Great attitude. Needs to add about five to ten pounds of bulk.

Glasgow is an intriguing prospect who can play either left guard or center with superb effectiveness. He would likely be a fourth rounder (possibly higher?) if it wasn’t for a DUI conviction and a team suspension for similar behavior. In the past year, the Big Ten mauler has become a model citizen and had a great year on the gridiron. He more than held his own at the Senior Bowl as he handled elite defenders who will do well at the next level. Likely projects to center.

Superior size with a superior skillset – exactly what the Redskins are searching for in a new wide receiver. Runs precise routes. Shakes coverage on short, intermediate, and long range passes with a can do attitude. Played in a pro-style system for the MAC’s Minutemen and transitioning to the NFL could be seamless. Needs to work on his YAC.

Round Five: DeAndre Houston-Carson, FS, William & Mary
Latter round free safeties need to have plenty of speed. Carson has it. Latter round free safeties need to have a nose for the ball. Carson has it. Latter round free safeties need to have an elusive ability to deal with blockers. Carson has it. Latter round free safeties need to have great tackling skills, cornerback like skills, incredible focus, football smarts, and special teams skills. Carson possesses these qualities and more. Could the CAA defensive player of the year start sometime during his first season? It’s possible.

Round Six: Cody Kessler, QB, Southern California
The Redskins will certainly take a quarterback in this draft as a developmental project and the all PAC-12 signal caller obviously fits that profile. He sees the field very well and goes through his progressions quickly and efficiently. Able to improvise with ease. Leads the west coast offense with short and intermediate passes with an amazing degree of accuracy. Could stand to improve on his longer pass accuracy. Would fit extremely well in the Redskins offense.

Do you need another punt returner who can score the occasional touchdown? He’s capable. The ACC specialist is a pretty good corner as well and is rated a bit higher by many scouting services. However, he regressed somewhat during a senior season that was hindered by poor team play. Deceptively quick. Canady has the size and strength that most teams covet, but will need a year or two on the bench. Could make his mark on special teams and then make the transition to nickel and dime back.

Round Seven: Joe Thuney, G, N.C. St.
Joe Thuney is a very versatile lineman and could serve as a backup at multiple positions on the offensive line. He has played both guard positions, the two tackle spots, and center. Yes, he is a Jack of all trades. Having such a lineman on the roster is a huge advantage in case of injuries to starters. The All-ACC first teamer is dedicated to his craft and is polished as a run blocker. Needs improvement as a pass protector. Long frame, but will need to add about twenty pounds of bulk and muscle.

The first thing that jumps out at you is the name. However, you don’t draft him just to relive some past glory. Greene (not Green) brings a pedigree of his own and it’s quite good from strictly a football perspective. However, a team suspension (several games for marijuana use) last season drops his stock. He has made amends for that lack of maturity and played the rest of this past season as a model citizen. The all Mountain West prospect will likely be a quality back up for most of his career and can fill in when needed. As is the case with late round offensive line prospects, little to no video exists.

Round Seven: Ian Seau, OLB, Nevada
He has a famous last name. Yes, the Mountain West product is a nephew of the late Junior Seau and like his famous uncle, Ian plays linebacker. He may not have the overall talent of his well known relative, but Ian Seau is a good football player. His specialty is rushing the passer. He would be an extra body on the field during passing downs and would need to make the roster as a special teamer as well. He lacks speed, but makes up for it with determination and toughness.

Joe Thuney is a very versatile lineman and could serve as a backup at multiple positions on the offensive line. He has played both guard positions, the two tackle spots, and center. Yes, he is a Jack of all trades. Having such a lineman on the roster is a huge advantage in case of injuries to starters. The All-ACC first teamer is dedicated to his craft and is polished as a run blocker. Needs improvement as a pass protector. Long frame, but will need to add about twenty pounds of bulk and muscle.

He has a famous last name. Yes, the Mountain West product is a nephew of the late Junior Seau and like his famous uncle, Ian plays linebacker. He may not have the overall talent of his well known relative, but Ian Seau is a good football player. His specialty is rushing the passer. He would be an extra body on the field during passing downs and would need to make the roster as a special teamer as well. He lacks speed, but makes up for it with determination and toughness.

Today we bring you the latest mock and it features trades and other exciting information. The draft is in progress and two rounds are front and center tonight. One more mock is coming on Saturday morning as BBQ tries to predict who will be the remaining picks.

After Saturday, we will shift to UDFA mode and review the choices sometime early next week.

Round One: Trade

The Redskins surprise the football experts and take the highly productive wide receiver from TCU. Excellent route runner. Targeted more than one-third of the time on offense for the Horned Frogs. Great body control and concentration. The Big12 star is a true touchdown machine. Possibly the best receiver in the 2016 draft. Has supreme confidence in his skills. The Redskins staff compares him to A.J. Green.

Round Two: Trade
The Redskins trade down to the latter part of round two and pick up a third rounder.

Round Two: Austin Johnson, DT/DE, Penn St.
The massively sized defensive lineman for the Nittany Lions is quite the presence on the gridiron. More than holds his own against double teams and almost always wins one on one battles. Excellent hustle as he moves laterally on the line. Excellent against the run. Great bull rusher who harasses the quarterback with regularity. Keeps on playing until the whistle sounds. Has the quickness to pursue screen passes. The all BIG10 player can slide outside on occasion. Can dominate the line of scrimmage.

The first team PAC12 linebacker is a major force on the football field. He is technically listed as an OLB, but figures to slide inside at the next level. Could start immediately. A needed and desired player for the Redskins at that position. The former safety can drop back in coverage, be highly effective in the rush defense, and provide a huge burst on the occasional blitz. Has a very aggressive and relentlessness attitude on the gridiron. A football player in the mold of what the Redskins GM prefers.

Prosise is an ACC performer who started out as a wide receiver, but moved to running back. Yes, he is quite effective at catching the ball from the backfield and producing big gains. Has the burst to take it to the house on any given play. Excellent size. Good speed. Originally recruited as a safety. Excels on special teams. Solid runner between the tackles and would be better in a power running scheme. Can handle a workload, but needs a few games to adjust to the NFL.

The motor that never quits. Kaufusi comes from the independent program of BYU and has shined against quality P5 competition. Seems to play his best in bowl games and key rivalries. A true pass rushing 3-4 DE. Good speed off the edges. Zeroes in quickly against quarterbacks and running backs on sweeps. Long, lanky frame allows him to swat down many passes. Would do extremely well on special teams as he has an ability to block kicks and punts. Hard worker. Great attitude. Needs to add about five to ten pounds of bulk.

Round Five: Graham Glasgow, C/G, Michigan
Glasgow is an intriguing prospect who can play either left guard or center with superb effectiveness. He would likely be a fourth rounder (possibly higher?) if it wasn’t for a DUI conviction and a team suspension for similar behavior. In the past year, the Big Ten mauler has become a model citizen and had a great year on the gridiron. He more than held his own at the Senior Bowl as he handled elite defenders who will do well at the next level. Likely projects to center.

Latter round free safeties need to have great tackling skills, cornerback like skills, incredible focus, football smarts, and special teams skills. Carson possesses these qualities and more. Could the CAA defensive player of the year start sometime during his first season? It’s possible.

Round Six: Cody Kessler, QB, Southern California
The Redskins will certainly take a quarterback in this draft as a developmental project and the all PAC-12 signal caller obviously fits that profile. He sees the field very well and goes through his progressions quickly and efficiently. Able to improvise with ease. Leads the west coast offense with short and intermediate passes with an amazing degree of accuracy. Could stand to improve on his longer pass accuracy. Would fit extremely well in the Redskins offense.

However, he regressed somewhat during a senior season that was hindered by poor team play. Deceptively quick. Canady has the size and strength that most teams covet, but will need a year or two on the bench. Could make his mark on special teams and then make the transition to nickel and dime back.
